Aha... ha. Yeah. [Rean rubs the back of his head nervously.] Near the end of our first year at Thors. Long story short, a bunch of the nobles in my country attempted a coup because they didn't like that common people were gaining power.

We didn't want to get involved with all of that. We were kids, we knew we couldn't decide the future of our country. We just wanted our school back. So we fought for it. Of course, there was no avoiding winding up on the front lines of some of the major battles, not with me in a Divine Knight... but for the most part, it was just for us.

Along the way, we wound up helping out a couple members of the royal family, so they helped us out in return.

You're probably not wrong about reality being stranger than fiction. It feels like fiction to me, most of the time.
