The ten elites ended up starting families that would become the noble houses of Fodlan. Kings, emperors, dukes, counts... the whole set. And some of them would break off and start their own nations and make new sets. The Goddess blessed them with her power so it's only natural they would use their powers to guide Fodlan and protect it for years to come.

(And then he sort of just... shrugs.)

There hasn't really been a lot of darkness or evil for a while. Mostly, we've just been making our own trouble.
