july mingle

July Mingle
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.

It's time. For the sake of its future, Liyue must face unrest and a trial from the divine.

The Rite of Descension goes horribly awry, plunging the bustling harbour city into unrest and apprehension. You, Traveler, already know of the plan - but the people don't, and a good portion of them are unable to envision a world without their god. However, there are also those in Liyue who see this as an opportunity to show mortal strength. Give them your support, and the city will realize that they can move forward into the era of humanity.

While the Liyue Qixing scramble to investigate Rex Lapis' assassination, the funerary rites still have to be prepared. For this purpose Wangsheng Funeral Parlour is seeking the help of Travelers and locals alike - ritual implements, flowers, and peripherals all have to be gathered for the ceremony, and the Lord of Geo would expect only the best materials to be used. As for who's footing the bill... well, it's a good thing that you've got divine backing this time.

For those who mingle with the Fatui, they would find out that the Snezhayan 'diplomats' have begun to make a move on Guyun Stone Forest. The islands are a place where the remains of old gods have come to rest, and they are under the order of the Cryo Archon to unseal a demon god from where it had been pinned beneath the waves. As for how... it's a closely guarded secret, but travelers would be told that it is a blessing from the Tsaritsa that allows them to do so. There's no way for you to prevent it, only to prepare for battle when the inevitable comes. Such is the rules in a chess game that pits gods against each other, and against Celestia.

What will you do?

State of the World

The majority of activities for the first two weeks of July are set in Liyue and surrounding areas to gather rare historic materials for a god's funeral. Each of the special items needed for the Rite of Parting require hard work to be obtained. Characters will also be forewarned that they will need to face the Lord of the Vortex, Osial, very soon. Forneus' intention is for humanity to triumph against the god by joining forces with the Adepti and fighting together. As for what happens to Osial - should it be defeated, Forneus will ensure that it will never rise to menace Liyue again by erasing it from existence.

The success of this operation hinges on you all. Good luck.

Please direct all questions to July's OOC post!

[ Trevor is in an odd position and the night is strange. He usually has good instincts about things and he can put up a fight in most situations.

He's just out keeping watch for a few hours.

Thankfully he's got a decent set of eyes and ears so he can spot trouble. This mysterious white figure looks like the very definition of trouble.]

Who might you be? Bloody hell. You're not a fucking ghost.

[Jun does recognize this man. One of the newer members of the travelers. He could probably let him in on the fact he's just another traveler, following orders to cause chaos.

But where would the fun in that be?

So Jun doesn't answer. He stares at Trevor for a moment - his face hidden from view, before turning to take a couple steps -- and teleporting himself onto a nearby roof with a flash of blue and white light]

So I've encountered a teleporting Jesus and not a ghost. There isn't any record of a spirit like this in the Belmont Bestiary.

[ Clearly it's just something or someone trying to mess with him. Trevor hardly looks amused by it all. He jumps right onto the roof and uses a whip to boost him there. ]

What's your deal? And before you run off again I already know you're not a typical villager.

[Huh, interesting. He notes the use of That Name. He must be from Earth. Likely one different from his own, since he can't recall any bestaries in the Underground by that name.

He'll decide to speak this time, his voice distorted to make it indecipherable who it is]

Hmph ... I have no business with you.

[In other words, he plans to be difficult. He follows this up by casually walking over to the roof edge and jumping over to the next roof like it's easy]

[personal profile] killtwice 2021-07-10 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh really? Unfortunately I've got business with you.

[ Trevor gets his combat knife ready just incase but he probably won't have have use it. ]

I have reason to believe you might be a cultist. Don't even get me started on that outfit.

[He notes him getting that knife ready. Hm.]

Don't see how that's your business if I am or not.

[personal profile] killtwice 2021-07-12 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Tell me who you work for and I'll consider backing off.

[ Trevor just dislikes cultists because he was once excommunicated by the church so he's got a personal vendetta against them. ]

The night's still young.

[Oh cool, vague threats. Always a way to get a Seal Knight cooperate-- oh wait.]

If you can't figure that out on your own, that's your problem. Not mine.

[And he's turning away again like he's totally planning to ditch this guy.]

[personal profile] killtwice 2021-07-13 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
My problem is with you. Yes, you!! You with the cloak and lack of manners and the funny white hood.

[ Trevor doesn't want to let Jun get away so easily. He's being persistent.]

If we're supposed to be working for the same goal then you've got an awful way of making friends.

[Ugh, this man was loud. And saying stuff like that might blow his cover or get this man into serious hot water. So he'll turn around]

The people suspect me for Rex Lapis's murder and the city's on high alert, so you might not want to loudly proclaim we're working together unless you want to wind up crucified.

[Or whatever the Liyue equivalent is. He's guessing the penalty for god killing is BAD.]
killtwice: (gw0uZ1e)

[personal profile] killtwice 2021-07-13 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Are they going to do crucifixions down here? There are so many different ways you could die. They could burn us to the stake instead.

[ Yeah, the penalty for killing a God is probably bad. Trevor's been left to experience many horrors in his time. He doesn't seem too surprised by the punishments or what it could mean when you get caught for a crime like that.

He seems more shocked at the fact this mysterious white figure apparently works on the same side as him. ]

Just so you know I don't fear death and I've never been afraid of dying.

[ ... 💧

This guy is seriously a moron isn't he. ]

Does that mean it's fine if I kill you myself then? A corpse would be do wonders to fuel the fearmongering.

[It's not a real threat]

I don't give a damn about your bravado. I'm here to complete a mission, not entertain you.

Adding another body to the pile wouldn't be a smart idea. There are fearmongering tactics, yes.

[ Trevor honestly looks like he's not even taking that as a threat so it's fine. Alucard would agree and say that Trevor is a moron in less than a second. ]

Do you intend to complete your god forsaken mission alone?

whiteshroud: (jun95)

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2021-07-13 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[It's why he's been trying to shoo you away this whole time dude!!! ]
killtwice: (JAnLTJn)

[personal profile] killtwice 2021-07-16 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Trevor doesn't seem too amused by that answer. ]

This is already a disaster. You're a big fucking moron. I hope you know that.

[ He's just shaking his head and speaking with a less than friendly tone. Though the guards seem to have taken notice of the activity around these parts. What to do next?]
whiteshroud: (jun67)

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2021-07-16 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
...

[He doesn't respond, not really listening to Trevor in favor of catching notice of the guard's movements. Ah. Fuck. They drew attention. And if the guards think that Trevor is any way affiliated with him....

Nngh. Guess he has no choice.

He jumps back a little, moving into a battle stance. He holds out his hand and a large blade appears out of light. Despite it being bigger than typical claymores in these parts, he holds it up with ease with one hand.

He holds the battle stance for just a moment, enough time to give Trevor a clue he should REALLY get ready to defend himself- before he moves in for an attack]

[personal profile] killtwice 2021-07-17 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ Trevor intends to deflect any incoming attacks with his trusty whip. It's stronger than a common sword and has some properties that make it useful for dealing with beasts. The good thing about using a whip is that he doesn't need to get in close to use it. ]

...And that's my cue. I better get going before this becomes another goddamn disaster.

Don't trip on your way out.

[ He knows the guards are around and so Trevor just moves out of view before they can spot him too much. ]
whiteshroud: (jun67)

[personal profile] whiteshroud 2021-07-17 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[The whip hits the sword, he pulls back from the deflect. He doesn't respond verbally to Trevor's words. Instead he shoot a volley of light magic in Trevor's direction, as if he's trying to get a parting shot. Even if it does manage to hit, it won't actually hurt. It's just to make sure there's no question about if this guy is in cahoots with him.

But with Trevor out of the way, he'll draw his focus on the guards. To give them something to talk about. He'll conjure several arrows of light to shoot at the guards. He holds them in the air long enough to work them up before shooting the down -- all moving so they just narrowly miss the guards and break the pavement at their feet.

And with that chaos stirred up? He teleports away before the guards have time to react. Another sighting of the spirit to add to the stories. ]
