Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.

The Rite of Descension goes horribly awry, plunging the bustling harbour city into unrest and apprehension. You, Traveler, already know of the plan - but the people don't, and a good portion of them are unable to envision a world without their god. However, there are also those in Liyue who see this as an opportunity to show mortal strength. Give them your support, and the city will realize that they can move forward into the era of humanity.

While the Liyue Qixing scramble to investigate Rex Lapis' assassination, the funerary rites still have to be prepared. For this purpose Wangsheng Funeral Parlour is seeking the help of Travelers and locals alike - ritual implements, flowers, and peripherals all have to be gathered for the ceremony, and the Lord of Geo would expect only the best materials to be used. As for who's footing the bill... well, it's a good thing that you've got divine backing this time.

For those who mingle with the Fatui, they would find out that the Snezhayan 'diplomats' have begun to make a move on Guyun Stone Forest. The islands are a place where the remains of old gods have come to rest, and they are under the order of the Cryo Archon to unseal a demon god from where it had been pinned beneath the waves. As for how... it's a closely guarded secret, but travelers would be told that it is a blessing from the Tsaritsa that allows them to do so. There's no way for you to prevent it, only to prepare for battle when the inevitable comes. Such is the rules in a chess game that pits gods against each other, and against Celestia.

State of the World

The majority of activities for the first two weeks of July are set in Liyue and surrounding areas to gather rare historic materials for a god's funeral. Each of the special items needed for the Rite of Parting require hard work to be obtained. Characters will also be forewarned that they will need to face the Lord of the Vortex, Osial, very soon. Forneus' intention is for humanity to triumph against the god by joining forces with the Adepti and fighting together. As for what happens to Osial - should it be defeated, Forneus will ensure that it will never rise to menace Liyue again by erasing it from existence.

Hmm, yeah... See, I was wondering if that's an old god thing.

[Somewhere across dimensions, Phanes gets the feeling Ana is roasting them. Just a little.]

You know, the 'god' part of me is just my job. I'm not really a god as a species.

[ He's actually serious about this, contrary to his usual playful demeanour. ]

I'm more of a traveler, though the span of my stays tend to be much longer than most.

[Since Phanes, while a god, isn't technically one themselves. Not in the more modern usage of the word, anyway.]

Maybe when this is all over, you should try to come visit sometime before you take your rest. Phanes would be happy to meet a fellow old folk.

[ Forneus looks into the middle distance. ]

How strange that time seems to slow to a crawl now that I'm actually anticipating something. Well, figuratively speaking. At least I'll be able to enjoy it this time.

[Anticipating, huh? Now she understands how he feels though, even if only a little more than she did before.]

[But she won't try to deter him. Phanes only choose otherwise because it's what they wanted, and she would expect the same from Forneus.]

But at least you have our amazing company for now. I doubt the time until then will be anything boring.

Of course. I'm having a lot of fun as it is.

[ He gives her a smile, and it seems like his usual trickster mask is firmly back on. ]

[That gets her brows to raise, before she gives him a wry grin in return.]

It's almost automatic at this point, even with her being "away" for 7 months. The fist is already coming towards his head as she complains.]

[ Pause. ]

By the way, you're married, so I can't hit on you anymore.

[For that she's grabbing his cheeks and pulling on them again.]

Don't call it being married! [Except it is.] Also I didn't even realise you were even hitting on me before.

[Pause. Pulls on his cheeks more for emphasis - she knows he's got some comment about her basically being blind about that kind of thing.]

Don't. Make a dumb comment about that.

Mrrffhhhmmrmmmrmmmrmmrm!!

[ It's actually an act, given that he's resistant to pain, but he puts it on anyway. ]

Okay, okay. I'll not talk about it ever again. Promise.

[And now she smushes his cheeks, scrunching his face for a moment before finally releasing him. She knows he's putting on an act, but that just makes her want to hit him even more...]

Good. Also I'm judging your tastes from now on.

[Look she knows she's A Lot.]

[ An okay sign followed by a thumbs up sign. It seems like he's not taking this seriously at all. ]

[Stares at. Quietly, judgingly.

Then whacks him hard in the chest.]

[ Forneus falls to the floor with all the exaggerated grace of a tin soldier. And he just lies there. ]

[Cue even more quiet, judging staring.

Then she elegantly shifts on her heel so she can flop down and just sit on him. This is fine. A wing might be smothering him a bit.]

I've never met an old man quite as dramatic as you.

[ Forneus laughs, though it's muffled under her wing. ]

Cmon, let me have some fun. At least I enjoy harmless stuff.

You can have your fun. Just expect me to have mine by giving you shit for it.

[Pokes at his face with her wing before she lifts it a little.]

And true. At least your idea of fun isn't like... reality-bending or world destroying.

Yeah. I'm not particularly fond of fire and brimstone and plagues for no reason.

[ Or devouring entire planets. Looking at one of his colleagues. ]

Gods have responsibilities... even if some gods don't like that.

[The duality of super old beings...

Though what he says gets a wry look, huffing quietly as she pokes at his cheek with her wing once more.]

At least we can count on you being responsible. I know some are in it for the power and nothing more.

They'll fall eventually. If not by the hands of their victims, then by a higher order, or the inevitable fate of death.

[ Forneus seems oddly confident when he says this. ]
