July Mid-Month Event
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Two weeks of unease is all Liyue gets to experience before their world is almost turned upside down.

Those with sharp eyes will notice a marked decline in Fatui appearances around Liyue. As for the cause...? These Fatui will now accost you, Traveler, seeking answers to the whereabouts of Rex Lapis' Gnosis. You'll have to flee from them, or otherwise convince them to back off by force. It seems they're very persistent, and their stubbornness is borne from their duty given by the Tsaritsa. Should they fail, her wrath will fall upon them instead. Surely, you can understand, right?

The Fatui's hurried search only lasts for a few days. In the wee hours of 18th December, Liyue will wake to an oppressive storm and rough seas. The bright glow from Guyun Stone Forest and subsequent ear-splitting roar confirms the worst - Osial has risen from the ocean floor, and without Rex Lapis to defend them, Liyue has to take things into their own hands.

It's a race against time for the civilians to climb Mount Tianheng towards relative safety, and for the Millelith to combat smaller water monsters that crawl out from the ocean. The Jade Chamber hovering above Liyue sails towards the storm instead, a last-ditch defensive effort by the Adepti and the Qixing together.

You, Traveler, are destined for something greater. An Adeptus appears before you, beseeching your help. Should you agree, she will teleport you atop the Jade Chamber, where Adepti ballistae are firing against the demon god from above. However, the Adepti manning these contraptions need help to fend off the seemingly never-ending waves of Fatui coming at them. They will also lend you some enchantments to bolster your strength while you fight - the eventual proof that unity can overcome all.

Alas, Osial fires a final blast that fractures the Jade Chamber. Just as all hope seems lost, Forneus' voice sounds in your mind.

It's not over yet. Focus your mind... think of your companions, your dreams, and your wish to liberate this world. Let your hopes illuminate the way forward!

Golden light begins to surround your body, coalescing into an orb in your palm. The light streams out from your hands and into the sky, piercing the demon god's body as a multitude of bright spears. Osial howls as familiar runes appear all over its body, fracturing it in a distinctive manner similar to glass. You glance at the Adepti - none of them seem to have expected this, but none of them seem to disapprove of it, either.

The Jade Chamber is still breaking apart, though. Better leave before it's too late - the Adepti will carry you down to safety.

State of the World

As planned, the Fatui have awakened Osial from its watery prison beneath Guyun Stone Forest. A confrontation with the demon god is inevitable - in the past, Rex Lapis was the one who sealed it away. This time, humanity has to prove that it can stand on its own without the intervention of gods. Forneus will also step in this time, using the power of your adversary to alter the course of history once and for all. After all, the only way to kill a god is to take their aspect away from them... or by repurposing it for something else.

There's also the matter of helping Liyue clean up after that near-tsunami. But this isn't the first time you've helped with disaster relief in Teyvat, yes?

[As one of the Travellers, Anastasia would eventually find herself accosted by Fatui - at the very least, they only seem to approach her when she's outside the city. A blessing, as her temper flares with every confrontation and she has very little patience for the group trying to go after whom she considers family.

Not that they know that, of course, but it creates a feedback loop; her quick anger makes them believe she knows something, which only makes her angrier. And appealing to her more compassionate side seems to have no effect, considering even on a good day she doesn't care much about the average person.]

I don't give a fuck if she'll beat your ass! Back. Off. [And there's the claymore glittering into existence in her hand, blackened fire licking around the blade. Which only just agitates the group more.]

I'm warning you... [She says, as if she isn't about five seconds away from bludgeoning one of them in the teeth.]

II.a

[Why does it have to be a water god? Why does there have to be rain and water everywhere?

As one of the winged Travellers, Anastasia suffers from an unfortunate circumstance of where her wings are not water resistant. Therefore wet wings mean heavy wings, and it's a literal pain - especially when she only still has a mortal body. Plus she's a Pyro, so her Vision is absolutely useless.

At least she has some things up her sleeve, possessing the corruption she regained before along with the powers of her new pact. So she assists the Millelith for now, her claymore and magic able to make quick work of the monsters. And she's ready to provide assistance if needed.]

II.a

[And now it's time for the main event against Osial.

Which mostly consists of Anastasia grabbing the nearest Fatui she can lift up and. Throwing them off the platform. It's fine, this is fine. The Adepti might be looking a bit unsure about this method, but it's keeping them away from the ballistae and that's all that matters. And if she can't physically throw them, she'll sure be doing her best to push them into the trajectory of Osial's attacks. (She's just had enough of them okay, she's had enough - )

And later, when Forneus steps in, she only watches with a blink as Osial is soon skewered and shattered like glass. Quiet for a moment, before speaking up.]

That was corny as hell, [Pls...] And what, we couldn't even fight Osial directly? Seriously? [Ma'am the chamber is falling.

Though she can still fly, despite how damp her wings are. So she's ready to offer rides for anyone who wants to be carried down - either like a sack of potatoes or bridal carried, there's only two options.]

III.

[The waters have receded and humanity has proven themselves triumphant. Now all that's left is the clean up.

As someone who can fly, Anastasia is able to provide aid in clearing debris from the harder to reach areas. She's no stranger to hard work, so she goes about it dutifully, still mulling over that encounter. She witnessed a god die, but she didn't really feel... anything, in regards to it? How annoying.

So despite the fact they're triumphant, Anastasia doesn't actually seem to be in the best of moods. And also not entirely paying attention, so sorry if she accidentally throws some debris off a roof and into your path. Or onto you. She'll at least try to be apologetic.]

[Even if Pyro doesn't have an advantage, Cryo does. With a swing of a blade, several of the monsters are frozen in place. It's with that short of a break that Roxas looks over at her with some panic on his face.]

Do you need healing?!

[Before these things thaw and they have to continue their fight.]

[Well, at least his element is more useful here than it was on the mountain. Being primarily a magic caster, Elliot is trying to keep away from the monsters instead of rushing in the front. Not that he isn't helping- rather he's conjuring plenty of strong gusts of wind to pick up monsters and blow them off the platform where they fall to their deaths.

Brutal.

Still, he is a squishy mage, so he could use help with being shielded. ]

[Guess who completely sat out the battle against Osial? This guy. In fact, he'd been nowhere to be found the entire fight - or during the escape afterwards. And there's been no sign of his mischief causing either since Osial's fall either - though by now, the rumors have grown enough that there'll probably be claimed sightings for years to come.

But right now, Jun is taking a stroll down the street. He's been helping out with clean up where he can, but it's limited to what locals assume a boy his size can do. He steps back as a piece of debris comes into his path]

Haha, that was a close one.

A. Fatui
[Yeah, Elliot had a feeling that working with a shady organization like the Fatui would eventually come back to haunt them. It was only a matter of time before they got twitchy enough to turn on them.

Elliot was a popular target, mostly because out of the travelers, he appears to be one of the weak ones. At first, he does his best to try to convince them that he has no idea what they're asking- he doesn't even know what a gnosis is. For some, this is successful.

But others who try to use a little more force? They'll find that force quickly backfiring, as he counters with a strong gust of wind that blows back their attacks on them. One such instance, Elliot will scramble out of the pathway he was in, before spotting someone and deciding to direct them elsewhere.]

C'mon, it's better we get some distance from here.

[If they look in the direction he came from, there's a Cryo Fatui agent, frozen on the spot]

B. Osial Battle
[he said he wanted to help the people, so that's exactly why he's here. He's on the Jade Chamber's platform, standing back as he uses ameno magic to blow any incoming monsters away. He'll also heal anyone that needs it! Talk about a useful ally.

On the downside, he is very much a squishy mage- so he could use any protect you can give him. Protect your healers guys]

C. Aftermath
[It's not the first time Elliot's helped kill a god-like being, so he's taking the whole thing in stride. Once they're safely back on the ground and things start to return to normal, Elliot is more than willing to help out. He'll check on travelers and anyone who participated in the battle, offering them healing if they need it.

If he's not doing that? He'll be helping with cleaning up debris-- though it's pretty limited to what he can pick up with his strength. And when there's no tasks to help with that, he can be found playing his old trusty violin again on the city streets, doing what he can to help soothe the people through this turbulent month. ]

D. Wildcard
[Got another prompt for me? Hit me up!]

[During the battle of Osial, Jun wasn't anywhere to be found. Oh he watched from afar alright, but he didn't participate. In fact the whole second half of the month, he's pretty scarce. Even the sightings of that "white spirit" have gone done -- though it's crossed enough into urban legend that there'll probably be unverified sightings for awhile yet.

Your best chance of finding him is at night, out on the foothills around Liyue harbor. He sits there some nights, looking at the cityscape as it was lit up in the night. He always had a fondness for such views.]

[Something about Anastasia worried Rose, but she's not quite sure what it was. Perhaps it's because of her recent ill-advised venture. Whatever the reason, Rose soon finds the person she's looking for...and she's outside surrounded by Fatui, as one might assume.]

[Normally, Rose would insist on intervening, or at the very least, not agitating the agents. This whole Liyue business has put her off of that, however, and she's more than happy to see Ana go to town.]

I want to tell you to hold back, but I'm afraid that I don't want to. Whatever damage you take, I'm happy to heal.

[Squishy mage, meet glass cannon. Just as Elliot cannot take more than a few hits, neither can Hu Tao. But, she can do enough damage to kill enemies before they become an issue, as well as grab enmity.]

[Hu Tao rushes forward in front of Elliot, her staff on fire. Walnut is coming for ya.]

I'll handle them! Keep me up.

[Oh no. WHO GAVE THE CHILD A FLAMING SPEAR. But the battle is really not the time to argue strategy- so he'll just go with it]

You mean keep you up in the air or keep you healed?

[Since that can mean two very different ways!]

[The same person who gave her a vision, of course. Blame rock grandpa.]

Aiya, both of course!

[Fighting in the air does sound fun.]

But for now, make sure I don't die.

[Dangit Zhongli.

Uh right. He's going to focus on the healing and protection first. ]

You got it!

[He casts another ameno spell, and a barrier of wind builds up around her to help with deflecting and slowing blows. Its not as strong as her rock grandpa's by any means, but it'll certainly help with keeping her safe.

Just in time too, because looks like a Fatui agent has spotted them and is charging at them]

[With that, Hu Tao charges forward, her visage disappearing into a rush of butterflies. She reappears just in front of the Fatui agent, blocking his blow with her spear. By this point, her spear has lost it's firey glimmer, but that's no matter.]

[After holding the agent in place for several seconds, Hu Tao pulls back, only to whip out a ghost. The Fatui agent falls to his knees, though he's not quite down for the count.]

[There's no denying her skill in battle. Even if she's a funeral home director, she certainly knows how to keep up in a fight. She'd probably do well at Thors, were they in Zemuria.

Elliot is ready to back her up. As the agent falls to his knees, Elliot follows up with an anemo attack- hitting them with a strong force of wind to knock them back. It's strong enough to hurt and push him back- either knocking him out or threatening him very close to the edge of the chamber]

(The claymore appears and shortly after, there's a voice from nearby. Tsurumaru appears, stepping lightly towards the two of them as cool and calm as ever,)

My, my, how exciting... (He smiles but there's something sharp to it,) Is something going to happen?

I want to see.

[Oh, they're... frozen? That's enough to get her to freeze in place as well, blinking before her eyes quickly focusing on Roxas. The chill of the water and the adrenaline made it hard to really focus on injuries, but she knows her limits. And she's definitely been hit more than once]

Yes, please!

[Or she could smash to pieces while they're thawed... That's becoming a tempting thought, but first. She needs to actually get healed up a little.]

[Incredibly brutal.

But Ana has always approve of brutality, so it's fine. But a squishy mage he is, so she's quick to swing her claymore towards one of the monsters that tries to charge at him, stepping between that and Elliot. Once it's pushed back a bit, she glances over at Elliot with a grin.]

Very nicely done. I'll cover your back while you do that.

[Because Ana will always approve of throwing things off of platforms.]

[Ana has noticed that Jun wasn't really around during... all of that, but she knows he can take care of himself; he would appear sooner or later anyway. So when she does hear his voice, she peers over the side of the roof she's working on, managing to look actually apologetic.]

Ah oops, sorry about that! [Let her just fly her way down, coming to a short drop in front of him.]

Did any of it hit you?

[Worrying about Ana in general has always been the best option, especially today. It's probably not the best idea to aggravate the Fatui, but she's just not having it and she's also not one to back down either. The sound of Rose, and the sound of her support, gets Ana to grin - giving the Fatui a shrug as they try to protest.]

You heard her! Though it's not me I'm worried about. [She hefts the claymore up now, readying it in her hands as she gets into a more battle-ready stance. One of them tries to turn towards Rose, but she's quick to swing her claymore towards them and prompt them to back-up.]

Your fight is with me. I'll get really mad if you want to involve anyone else. [She says as if she isn't 5 seconds away from being furious.]

[His appearance gives the Fatui pause, while Ana glances over - claymore still at the ready. The Fatui glances between the two Travellers, debating for a moment before once more trying to appease and pry for information from the woman. But Ana has no sympathy or desire to help, especially now.

Instead she swings the claymore at them, the Fatui quick to dodge the corrupted weapon as it trails in an arc and back to her side. In her opinion, she's been very nice and very patient about this. So the Fatui only has themselves to blame now.]

Ah, it'll just be some pest extermination. [Though maybe Tsurumaru will listen to reason? With that, the Fatui turn towards him, trying to ply something from him. After all, they'll be in great trouble if they can't fulfil their duty!]

(Tsurumaru is a war sword and being in the thick of battle is where he feels most natural. He's an agile and skilled fighter able to hold his own well against many opponents and he can knock back but there's definitely something brutal about the way he brings his sword down, relentlessly attacking anyone that comes at him. He strikes at the Fatui with a combination of swordsmanship and his vision, though, he prefers the former by far. Always calm and cool, he seems particularly alive right now, a smile on his face as he cuts through his opponents or knocks them back.

Whatever you might think about his style, he's a reliable ally to have on your side, though. When one of the Fatui charge at you, Tsurumaru is quick to change directions and knock them back--)

-- Behind you! (That's one member down and out of commission for now.) Ah, are you surprised?

(After the battle, Tsurumaru can be in a quiet place, holding his robe in his hands. Usually a bright, clean white, it's currently torn and stained with blood and dirt.

He wipes at a patch of dirt with his fingers and frowns when it doesn't come out,)

How dirty...

(He sounds disappointed but he pushes those feelings aside, looking up to speak to you,)

Do you have a moment?

(Wildcard me! PSA I'll be canon updating Tsurumaru in August so prompt 2 will kind of set that up. )

(He was right. This is exciting but as much as Tsurumaru loves spilling a little bit of blood, he knows there's a time and place.)

Ah.

(Just, "ah." He listens to the Fatui speak and nods his head in all of the right places as he listens to the explanation. He's the perfect image of patience but there's that mischievous spark in his eye, like he isn't being completely serious,)

How troublesome. (A glance to Ana,) Don't you think? If only there was a way we could help.

(And he taps the sword that is always present at his side, thoughtful,)

Well, you wouldn't have to worry about your duty if you were dead. Don't you agree?

(Ana, what do you think? Also don't mind how completely casual and carefree Tsuru just threatened this Fatui.)

[Were he more of a brat, he'd lie and say yes. But luckily, he'll hold back that urge. ]

No, I managed to jump back in time.

[lucky day!]

Helping with clean up?

(The thing about wyvern is that they require a lot of space and regular activity or else they grow bored and well... that's how you get stories about entire sheep villages being tormented by menacing dragons. Of course, Claude is a responsible wyvern master so he takes Rumi out, often at night when it's quieter and the two can fly in peace.

As Claude guides Rumi lower to the ground, readying to land, he spots a familiar, friendly face and redirects the wyvern. Rumi circles around once and Claude calls out,)

Jun? Is that you?

(And the wyvern and rider land deftly nearby. From atop his wyvern, Claude smiles,)

I thought so. Enjoying the view?

[Claude is a good wyvern master alright. It's pretty easy to hear a wyvern coming, so Jun knows to look up before Claude calls out to him. He'll smile and wave at his friend as he lands.]

Haha, yeah. It's a nice night, so I thought I'd check it out.

[But enough about him]
