August Mingle
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Happy new year....! In Teyvat, that is. It is now January ingame, and Liyue's people go about their disaster recovery efforts with more vigour than before. After all, Liyue's biggest festival is slated to occur in the latter half of the month - the Lantern Rite!

The Rite of Parting - Rex Lapis' funeral - passes without much incident, and Liyue collectively breathes a sigh of relief. With the Fatui being chased out of the yard, it seems that peace will finally return to the harbour city as they rebuild from the storm. You'll also get to watch three million Mora's worth of incense go up in smoke, so there's that.
Eager to focus on the future, Liyue folk have begun discussing the upcoming festival. The Lantern Rite commemorates hope for a new beginning and continued prosperity, and the construction of the festival centerpiece is currently underway. This year's Mingxiao Lantern will soar into the sky amidst thousands of smaller lanterns, and it will take the shape of a fallen Adeptus to commemorate the Adepti's contribution to Liyue's lasting peace.

Unfortunately, you're not quite out of the frying pan yet. With the Fatui gone from Liyue, the Ministry of Civil Affairs turn their attention to solving another issue that has cropped up after Osial's revival and subsequent defeat. Quite a few miners have gone missing from the Chasm, and the likelihood of finding them will only grow slimmer as the days go by. Both the Millelith and the Adventurers' Guild have pitched in to search for the kidnapped people. All clues lead to Nantianmen - and it's just your luck that Geovishaps and their hatchlings have come out of hibernation at around the same time. These lizard-like beings have shells of solid rock, and they seem especially agitated at having their territory invaded. Solving the mystery of the missing miners will take more than just a day's work.
State of the World
With the Lantern Rite set to open on January 21st, all of Liyue have come to visit the harbour to set up their stalls and pitch in to craft the Mingxiao Lantern. Hopefully the miners are found before the festival begins - the Lantern Rite is a festival of reunions, after all. Not to mention the Geovishaps' increased activity will inadvertently lead to them burrowing around in the rocky mountains. There's a small, but non-zero chance of them hitting an ancient seal somewhere and unleashing a buried threat.
Unless... that was their intention all along?
Please direct all questions to August's OOC post!

I assume you are prepared as always.
[ Ledah's already got his Diviner out. There is no question that he's raring to go and fight; though at the very least it's probably a reassurance he's not going to rush head along. Not until he can be certain of how many enemies are on the battlefield. ]

[He gives a nod as he summons his holy sword. No point in holding back his power with Ledah around. ]
Ready when you are.

[ Ledah steps forward, and out they come - the first one gets a taste of his Diviner for its efforts. Actually, it didn't have much chance to do much else but get stabbed by a spear before it could roll into either of them or do much of anything just because the blond has quick reflexes. But it's not the only one on the battlefield, and soon he has to bring it up to block the second's strike.
That being said, there are more than just the two Ledah encountered, judging by the fact there's three more crawling out of the ground or something... ]
Somehow this got lost in my inbox
The third manages to get out of the ground before Jun can reach them, so with quick reflexes he jumps back out of its slashing attack's reach and swings his sword - letting a wave of Light energy shoot out and burn through the monster.
Between the two of them, this is a bit like overkill really]
It's all good!
Honestly, the fact that his normal aptitude is with flames and so is his Vision definitely helps majorly in his favor. Not that... he needed much of that in the first place.
Needless to say, for now it becomes clear that their enemies don't stand a chance in hell, especially once they've wiped the monsters in the area completely out. ]
I did anticipate that destroying our enemy would be a simple matter, though it was quicker than I thought.
[ He states it as if it's a fact. That is because it is and he trusts that Jun is a strong fighting partner to make it possible, not to mention his own capabilities. ]

He lowers his sword when it's over, giving a glance over the monster carcasses before kneeling down and pulling some bones that the beast had with them. Yeah, this will make a good treat for Koromaru alright.]
Mm. As I understand, most of the extreme threats in Liyue were eliminated or sealed away during the Archon War by Rex Lapis, the Adepti and the Yaksha. Rare these days are foes strong enough to require someone of our skill level, much less two.
[In other words, he's not surprised it was a breeze for them, this is a low level zone compared to what they're used to. ]

It's good that remains the case for the most part. While this is a simple matter for us, it allows those new to the group to grow accustomed to battle in this world.
Though, it'll be for the best we're to keep ourselves aware that eventually we'll face stronger enemies again at some point.
[ Given what the entire scope of what their mission entails and what they've been generally doing, Ledah does anticipate that the difficulty will inevitably scale again. Though he suspects that Jun knows the same. ]

Mm, you have a point. I imagine things will only escalate from here, so we should appreciate this while we can.
[Jun would also be happy to fight some tough enemies, but he's not so much a blood knight that he can recognize that it's better foes are weaker for now]
