August Mingle
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.

Happy new year....! In Teyvat, that is. It is now January ingame, and Liyue's people go about their disaster recovery efforts with more vigour than before. After all, Liyue's biggest festival is slated to occur in the latter half of the month - the Lantern Rite!

The Rite of Parting - Rex Lapis' funeral - passes without much incident, and Liyue collectively breathes a sigh of relief. With the Fatui being chased out of the yard, it seems that peace will finally return to the harbour city as they rebuild from the storm. You'll also get to watch three million Mora's worth of incense go up in smoke, so there's that.

Eager to focus on the future, Liyue folk have begun discussing the upcoming festival. The Lantern Rite commemorates hope for a new beginning and continued prosperity, and the construction of the festival centerpiece is currently underway. This year's Mingxiao Lantern will soar into the sky amidst thousands of smaller lanterns, and it will take the shape of a fallen Adeptus to commemorate the Adepti's contribution to Liyue's lasting peace.

Unfortunately, you're not quite out of the frying pan yet. With the Fatui gone from Liyue, the Ministry of Civil Affairs turn their attention to solving another issue that has cropped up after Osial's revival and subsequent defeat. Quite a few miners have gone missing from the Chasm, and the likelihood of finding them will only grow slimmer as the days go by. Both the Millelith and the Adventurers' Guild have pitched in to search for the kidnapped people. All clues lead to Nantianmen - and it's just your luck that Geovishaps and their hatchlings have come out of hibernation at around the same time. These lizard-like beings have shells of solid rock, and they seem especially agitated at having their territory invaded. Solving the mystery of the missing miners will take more than just a day's work.

State of the World

With the Lantern Rite set to open on January 21st, all of Liyue have come to visit the harbour to set up their stalls and pitch in to craft the Mingxiao Lantern. Hopefully the miners are found before the festival begins - the Lantern Rite is a festival of reunions, after all. Not to mention the Geovishaps' increased activity will inadvertently lead to them burrowing around in the rocky mountains. There's a small, but non-zero chance of them hitting an ancient seal somewhere and unleashing a buried threat.

Unless... that was their intention all along?

Please direct all questions to August's OOC post!

Mm, there is. It's as Internet Rule 34 says... if it exists, there's porn of it. You gotta categorize all of it somehow.

[And yet again, he feels that sense of dread one has when they remember they hadn't erased their browser history before getting kidnapped to another world. Man, he hopes Shinomiya hasn't found a way past his seals yet. ]

Yeah...I understand your feelings though. [It's why he took so long to bring it up!] For what it's worth, no one in my world seems to have any idea the show was based on real people. Not even folks in the Underground.

...I've never heard of that rule, but I'm not surprised by it, either.

[Sounds legit.

...Wait. If that's true, and this series is popular in Jun's home world... oh, god. Is there porn of him on the internet?!

[Rean decides not to think about that any further, lest his brain actually just break and come falling out of his ears in tiny shards.]

Well, that does help a little. It's... certainly strange, but it being a weird multiverse coincidence feels better than someone stalking us across dimensions, at least.

[....Yeah, Jun knows better than to answer that line of questions. Or about how much of it he's read]

Mm. Just in case, I can investigate the animation studio when I return to Earth. If someone's using the Eclipse for something like story ideas, that'd fall under the Orden's interests.

Though, it wouldn't surprise me if it's simply some very strange universal coincidence.

[Rean appreciates it. He doesn't want to know. Or at the very least he doesn't want to know if he isn't the top.]

...Haha. Would it really just be for the Orden, or would it be a fan getting the best tour of their life, though?

[If Jun can call him out, Rean thinks it's fair game.]

[Jun clears his throat]

I'm a Seal Knight, Rean. I don't let personal feelings get in the way of my missions.

[He said, like a liar. ]

[Rean can't hold back the little grin that creeps across his face.]

Oh, of course! Silly me. My deepest apologies.

[He's not sorry at all.]

[Yeah he can tell. Karma so cruel]

It's not like I'd get to meet any of the creative staff anyway. I'd be investigating when everyone's out of the building.

But if you're lucky, you might be able to see some concept work.

[Think of the bright sides, Jun!]
