Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
The Miko of the Grand Narukami Shrine has arranged for your passage out of Ritou and into the Inazuma islands at large. The nation has been gripped by an oppressive atmosphere ever since the enactment of the Vision Hunt Decree, and only someone unyoked by the Electro Archon can hope to break this stalemate.

Konda Village sits on the outskirts of Inazuma city. A pillar of its community now seeks to move out after losing his Vision. A samurai employed by the Shogunate is being accosted of hiding rations by his neighbours, and he has no recollection of ever dealing in such matters. Forgetting something seems to be the thread that links every former Vision holder's story together, yet their tragedies differ greatly in circumstance. Is the loss of a Vision truly so profound? If so, then why did the gods deliver such a poisoned gift to their people?

A mysterious priestess approaches you with a sincere request - Kazari seeks your aid in purifying the Thunder Sakura around Inazuma, as well as the Sacred Sakura on Mount Yougou. She tells you that these trees absorb the evil from the very land, but cannot dispel it without outside intervention. Here's where you come in: you need to dispel the sealing sigils around the holy trees, so that the filth accumulated within their roots can take form and then be swiftly cut down.

The seals, the trees, and Kazari herself are relics from the olden days - the mystical Inazuma, where kitsune and tengu lived and worked alongside humans and their god. But those days have since ended, and all that is left is a stifling eternity.

State of the World

The Land of Eternity is not without failings. By pursuing 'Eternity' and closing the doors of her nation, the Raiden Shogun has only made the lives of her people more difficult. Exploring the country may give you some clues as to how you can break her enforced stasis. You must first understand the situation of the nation, and then find the natives who also wish to change their world.

[Non-humans have to stick together!

And as he circles around the bush, Ana brings herself up onto the lower branches of a tree - it would be faster to launch herself from there.

All is quiet for a few moment - which Ana looks progressively more annoyed about - before the tanuki pops out, sees Louis, and immediately tries to go the other way. Which is when Ana swoops in to catch it in her arms. And try to hold it in place without accidentally crushing it since inhuman strength - ]

C'mere, you little thief!

[ There's a pop and suddenly Ana is holding a bundle of hay instead of a tanuki, but it drops the crystal and the blood tear rolls onto the grassy forest floor with a small thud. The tanuki reappears on a nearby rock, doing a jolly dance before slipping into the undergrowth and out of sight. Louis doesn't pursue it, instead quickly moving to pick up the blood tear. It's unscratched and unbitten, as if the tanuki didn't want to eat it at all or use it as a toy. ]

What was that...?

[Eh? Eh?

Ana blinks at the bundle in her arms, stunned before her eyes turn towards the actual tanuki doing its little dance. Immediately pouting and proceeding to be a sore loser; yeeting the hay bundle in the direction the tanuki ran off.

Huffing loudly now as she plants her hands on her hips, stewing in her annoyance for a moment.]

A little shit, is what it is! [HUFF.] Are you belongings in tact?

[ He turns to look in the direction of the disappearing tanuki for a few moments before returning his attention to the blood tear. He turns it over a few times to check its structural integrity. ]

It's not damaged. Would make things difficult if it was.

[ He makes his way back to the large rock they were sitting on, still holding the blood tear and wondering if he should consume it before another tanuki decides to thieve it again. ]

[Once he makes his way back over to the rock, she does as well - shifting to seat herself down and hunch over so she can rest her elbows on her knees, wings folded neatly behind her. She peers at the blood tear from the corner of her eye, quiet for a moment before her brows raise in a silent question. Which she just voices in the next second anyway;]

Sooo... What is that, exactly?

[Must be something important, if he wanted it back and in one piece.]

[ Since it's Ana, he doesn't have his usual reservation about explaining any of his things. ]

It's called a blood tear. The stuff inside acts as a substitute for human blood, at least for me.

[ Because he'd rather die permanently than actually feed off a human. It's a painful experience for any victim. ]

Mmm, I see. That's pretty handy.

[And yeah, she isn't phased in the slightest. Her exe was like a vampire, after all.]

Is Forneus able to give you a steady supply of them?

Yes.

[ It's very handy to have an employer that can replicate a known substance without needing to harvest it from the source world. He doesn't want to diminish his home world's supply if it was possible.

It occurs to him that it might have been possible for him to ask Forneus for a cure for vampirism... but that would not bring his companion back, would it? ]

It removes the need for feeding on humans.

[That is very handy - especially since it seems like the last thing Louis wants is to feed on humans. Humming once more under her breath as she peers at the crimson bead, before she casts her gaze to the forest around them.]

At least now you don't have to worry about that on top of everything else. Though... [Pause, and she frowns a little as she thinks, crimson eyes now sweeping back to her companion.]

Couldn't you have asked him to get rid of the need to drink blood? I know he can do all sorts of shit, so he might be able to do that.

[ He's quiet for a moment, as if he was genuinely considering the idea. ]

You can only ask him for one wish. The payment for my contract is for something more important.

[ Maybe it was also in part selfish, wishing to see that person again. But the contract has been sealed. ]

Something more important?

[She repeats his words with a curious cant of her head, crimson eyes peering over at him.]

What would be more important than curing something that's troubling you?

We became Revenants to combat a greater threat. Those dangerous beings won't go away if we return to being humans. There's a friend of mine who could help us with figuring out a way to banish the horrors once and for all... but they sacrificed themselves for us and went into an eternal sleep. I asked Forneus to bring them back.

[ If everyone worked together, they would be able to find a solution. They have all of undeath to do it, after all. ]
