October Mingle
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
The Miko of the Grand Narukami Shrine has arranged for your passage out of Ritou and into the Inazuma islands at large. The nation has been gripped by an oppressive atmosphere ever since the enactment of the Vision Hunt Decree, and only someone unyoked by the Electro Archon can hope to break this stalemate.

Konda Village sits on the outskirts of Inazuma city. A pillar of its community now seeks to move out after losing his Vision. A samurai employed by the Shogunate is being accosted of hiding rations by his neighbours, and he has no recollection of ever dealing in such matters. Forgetting something seems to be the thread that links every former Vision holder's story together, yet their tragedies differ greatly in circumstance. Is the loss of a Vision truly so profound? If so, then why did the gods deliver such a poisoned gift to their people?

A mysterious priestess approaches you with a sincere request - Kazari seeks your aid in purifying the Thunder Sakura around Inazuma, as well as the Sacred Sakura on Mount Yougou. She tells you that these trees absorb the evil from the very land, but cannot dispel it without outside intervention. Here's where you come in: you need to dispel the sealing sigils around the holy trees, so that the filth accumulated within their roots can take form and then be swiftly cut down.

The seals, the trees, and Kazari herself are relics from the olden days - the mystical Inazuma, where kitsune and tengu lived and worked alongside humans and their god. But those days have since ended, and all that is left is a stifling eternity.

State of the World

The Land of Eternity is not without failings. By pursuing 'Eternity' and closing the doors of her nation, the Raiden Shogun has only made the lives of her people more difficult. Exploring the country may give you some clues as to how you can break her enforced stasis. You must first understand the situation of the nation, and then find the natives who also wish to change their world.

[There's someone else about to cross this border, and while she's dressed in the local attire, the black wings on her back certainly tilt her towards being one of the travellers. Though when she notices Ris just standing there, Ana stops - glancing from where she's a few steps ahead of her.

Huh, the girl is another one with red eyes... It gets Ana's own to narrow, but not much besides that.]

If you keep staring, you're gonna psych yourself out.

[Ana's in front of her, so it's not like Ris didn't know she was there— her sight is compromised, but not that much— but she wasn't expecting to be spoken to.

As such, she definitely jumps, but tries to recover quickly.

As if to prove a point, she takes a step or two toward Ana. ...It's easier to think of it as toward Ana, as opposed to "outside."]

I can handle it. I am not "psyched out" or however you say, I was simply trying to... prepare, is all.

[Prepare for what? 3 steps into the grasslands?]

[Seeing Ris jumps prompts Ana's brows to raise in amusement, but she doesn't say much beyond that. Even if her lips do twist into a smirk, canting her head just slightly.]

Prepare for... what? I don't see anything you need to ready yourself for.

[Though Ana is also just being difficult now "just because."]

[Is... is this lady smirking at her? Oh, Ris dislikes her immensely already.]

The world is vast and full of unknowns. Even with a solid understanding of what one might encounter, is it not wise to prepare oneself for the possibilities ahead?

[That is the most valid reaction to Ana.]

But that's kinda boring. [No Ana, you're just reckless adrenaline/fight junkie.] If you spend too much time preparing and worrying, it won't seem so fun once you head out.

[To be fair, Ris dislikes most people immensely.]

Boring, perhaps. However, it is also safe.

Perhaps you are so blessed as to not live life wondering which wrong step will hurt you next, but I have learned my lessons well.

At the end of the day, the goal is survival. If you happen to have "fun" doing it, then that is just a bonus.

[As if to prove herself, she huffs and takes a couple of steps past Ana.

...oh my god there is just so much where does she even go aaaaa]

[Ana makes no attempts to argue against what Ris says - she doesn't really see the point, nor does she care enough to convince her otherwise.

But her grin does widen when she takes more steps past Ana, the nephilim simply hanging back and watching the younger girl.]

The goal is survival, yeah. But sometimes you need take a risk here or there or you'll be stuck in the same rut forever.

Buuuut, I can see that's no issue. [Now she takes a few steps forward, though she still stands a little behind Ris.]

So, where to next?

[Sorry, what? She had a point before? She was mostly just saying words to try to make herself sound smart and maybe look less like she's about to have a full-blown panic-induced meltdown.

It's not really working.]

Y-you're asking me? [It requires thought to avoid contractions, and that is not quite working when everything is so big and she is so small] You seemed to be coming out here on your own will. I should have hoped you had a goal!

[Her voice is slowly becoming squeakier the more she talks.]

Nah, I'm just going to explore. There's some areas I haven't looked at yet.

[Hope Ris wasn't expecting an actual, serious answer from her. Ana, meanwhile, just keeps grinning like an asshole - she hears that squeak... But she also seems to be rapidly approaching a meltdown, and even Ana isn't callous enough to actually laugh at that.]

So, yeah, I'm asking you. What do you plan to do?

[She had kind of hoped, yeah, but she's very quickly adjusting to the reality that is Ana driving her insane.

She has to swallow some of her shaking and try to put on a brave face again, but she's still definitely a pretty squeaky.]

...I guess just... head out a bit? It... will probably still be okay if I can still see the city. So long as I know where to head back to. If I want to be of any use, I need to adjust to the wilds, so...

[She huffs, frustrated with herself and this whole situation, then looks at Ana.]

You don't feel terrifyingly small looking out at all of that?
