Not at all, Charlie.
[ he chuckles at the name and looks far too happy to have been called charlie, but pieck allows him to live with it. they're outside in a place the titan could fit, first of all, with mingle sitting on the fountain ledge for inspiration while pieck lays onto her belly and folds her arms much like a resting cat as they awaited their much anticipated second brain. ]

especially if it's a task that's... interesting as this one. the description of the job had gotten her attention right off the bat. it's certainly unique and, outside of it becoming possibly personal, fascinating enough to get her attention from the other options that she could have gone with right off the bat.
perhaps she should have considered she would not be the only one to think that way - she looks pleasantly surprised to see someone else is there when approaching the agreed meeting place, eyebrows raised and head tilted to the side but she quickly recovers. she flashes a bright smile, waving in greeting before she gives a quick and polite curtsy. ]
Hello! It's nice to see that someone else is here. Never hurts to have someone to bounce off thoughts and ideas with. [ she straightens up, the friendly smile still on her face. ] It's an honour to meet you. I'm Lorem Laurel but feel free to call me Lorem.

Hello, Lorem. You can call me Pieck.
[ she doesn't move much, not even her head— this position is good enough, she has a wide angle from here anyway, and only momentarily seems to shift her arms beneath her to get into a comfy settle-down. ]
Charlie was just telling me about his writer's block starting with, [ she literally check her notes, with a gentle finger, ] the climax. Can you take a look at this? Page twenty-three, fourth paragraph. [ she'll give lorem a moment to take the rough draft of the book and find what she was looking for. it all reads terribly stiff— and it's on foreplay, not climax. ] We have some work to do before making an impression where it's due.
[ charlie is already starting to take notes though. ]

[ she takes the draft and flips through the addressed page, curious to see what the issues are. twenty-three... paragraph four... there we go. ah. right in the middle of foreplay, too.
after taking a few minutes to absorb the details before her, she frowns in obvious displeasure and, in her opinion, sees what the immediate issue with the passage is: ]
I understand that they're entry-level economic officers but they shouldn't be so blase about their work. [ she closes the draft and tucks it under her arm, shaking her head in disappointment while fishing out some writing materials she brought along. ] They still have an important job for the country they're representatives of. It's important for them to use their time in the party to develop local contacts so they're better informed of local developments that could affect their country's policies.
[ they shouldn't be spending so much more time necking and petting each other behind a curtain in a public party. that's a terrible misuse of their hours, let alone unhygienic since they're so near the food if they can describe the smell of the desserts and spices. ]

[ p-precisely! charles exclaims, and wonders how exactly should he balance both the reality and fantasy of it. luckily, lorem is on the right track. pieck's limbs, hands and fingers are too large to use general writing utensils— she'll leave that up to her partner. ]
Entry level does not mean careless. They're beginning their career, one sign that they're unsuited for the job could mean discharge. Over lust? [ her nose gives a twitch as her lips begin to lift just a bit, ] They wouldn't have gotten this far to begin with. Lorem has a point.
[ hm, ]
Start with a gaze, just a second of it, and what happens during that second can be described in introspection. And the petting, [ a "shoo" gesture, ] it's in an obvious place, people will realize they're gone. I believe, Lorem, this would do better if they were more aware of their surroundings and used that. Why not use their goals as a motivator?

[ lorem begins to write down what pieck's suggestions, nodding along to show she was listening to what was being said.
hmmm... their goals as a motivator, huh? that's something they could work into the scenes without forcing charles to rewrite the entire scenario. they're only here to give him their opinions and insight, not force the poor man to redo his work if he needs to publish this on a tight deadline. ]
I definitely like the idea of their goals being worked into this scene. Since the passage implies they're both competing for the notice of their senior officer and have an intense rivalry because of it. Do you think that could be worked into the- [ she looks up, tilting her head to describe the encounter tastefully. ] -narrative?
[ it seems lorem isn't the only one taking down notes- charles is quick to scramble for his own papers, not wanting to miss anything the two are saying. ]

Rivalry to Lovers is a splendid touch, especially if they're initially unaware and seem more focused on their more realistic objectives. Do you have any experience of the theory of goal-setting, Lorem?
