Okay so here's the hilt. It's made out of metal or something like that, and it's what stays around when the sword's off.
And this is the laser blade. In theory, it's a laser that can cut through most materials but also concentrated enough where it can parry other laser swords.
It's just a story so it's probably not plausible-- [THAT SAID--] -- But I have a theory that it could work if you concentrate Light Element enough to form the blade, and then mix in Steel or Geo element to stabilize the beam. Though you'd need to find a usable power source or someone with high enough proficiency in both elements to pull it off.
