for the Forge Rangers
(Claude might be a noble but he's not afraid of getting dirty. A free weapon sounds promising and it stood out more among the other commissions that offered a small fee and some smaller rewards. Not that there was anything wrong with those, of course.
He's content with hanging back for a bit as they head to the mines, letting the adults lead the way. He is, after all, just a teen in need of a guardian or something. (Hah.) He looks over his company and thinks about what a curious group this is. They're all from different places and yet here they are, working together for a task and reward. )
With the four of us here, we can probably bring back plenty for Wagner to use.
(The smith.)
I wonder what he'll make from it...

Our rewards, maybe?
[ Wouldn't that be nice... ]
We should probably come up with some kind of plan before we go in. Can't remember if I mentioned this already, but my Vision's Hydro.

Using his new resources to churn out free rewards doesn't sound very profitable. (If he's being honest,) But I'm not complaining.
(Seeing what everyone can do seems like a good place to start,)
Electro.
(He holds up a hand and wiggles his fingers some. It's?? Electricity crackling? Or something?)
no subject
Cryo. [ So those three have good synergy... ] How whole do these ore have to be, exactly?
[ ...Did any of them bother to get details? ]
no subject
And I'm Pyro! [She waves her hands, and lookie there's the little flames. So it's a group of good reactions, based on what she's read. This should be interesting.]
In my experience, fist-sized chunks or bigger have worked best. But he's happy, or close to it, so long as you bring him something back.

[ Keith can absolutely be the responsible adult (???) here, but as much as he wants to plan some sort of functional strategy, he has no idea how the different Visions react. Save for Cryo and Hydro, though. ]
I know that Ed and I can freeze the rocks and break them with our Visions. No idea what Pyro and Electro do, though.
[ He looks towards the others, searching for answers. Any ideas, gang? He's got nothing!! ]
Sounds like putting those two together would be pretty explosive, if I had to guess.

We can make use of a few elemental reactions with this spread. Probably the best would be mixing either of us Cryo with Pyro or Electro. See what clicks.
no subject
If anything, it sounds like we have a pretty good balance between the four of us. (Pyro and Electro paired with Hydro and Cryo seem like a set of pairs that could keep the other in check.) This is all pretty new to me... The work and the magic.
(There's a learning curve here!!)
So let's be careful with whatever we do once we get inside.
(The mines are a dark and closed place. The last thing they need is to get stuck inside.)
no subject
Anyway, he turns to Claude and says: ]
Yeah, well, you're not alone there.
[ Keith's already making his way into the mines, though. He should probably do more research on the elemental reactions but he's guessing he'll learn...a lot...about that today. The mines are, indeed, very dark and not very spacious whatsoever. It'll be dangerous if something goes wrong, huh... ]
Alright. Keep an eye out for the ore and don't do anything you'll regret later.
[ That's rich coming from you, Keith!!! ]

[At least Anastasia seems to be... very at ease about all this, and the fact that this is a very dark and enclosed mine which could end in disaster if they aren't careful. So she decides to be helpful and brings a small ball of flame to life in her hand, helping to illuminate the area for now.]
I do know one reaction, with Pyro and Electro, that could help with mining. It's a bit explosive if you aren't careful, though.
[Only baby explosions allowed, especially in a small space with people.]

[ Ed, who has never given a fuck about property damage in his life -
Well, that's not true. He will always fix things for civilians but like, in the general sense? Property damage occurs sometimes. And it's not like they're near any houses right now! ]

(Who let Claude von Riegan have access to explosives there's a reason why mines haven't been introduced in the series in years.)
We can probably clear a lot of rock that way so it wouldn't hurt to try... as long as we're careful, of course.
(Anyway into the mines they go! It's dark but Anastasia's light helps. There's probably some torches or something in the mine for the regular miners... so I'm going to say he spots one and goes ahead to reach for it.)
Here, this way you'll be free to help.
(Instead of just being their personal lamp.)
Alright, let's see what we can get.
(TIME TO WORK.)
for Rose
Talk about spooky.
(They've just finished listening to some poor NPC maid explain how her boyfriend swears he saw a phantom in the Whispering Woods. He was glowing green, bright in the night and it was just soooo scary! What if the phantom is dangerous? Her dearly beloved travels through the area frequently and she's just so worried about him…
Claude doesn't sound particularly impressed by the story. Her description had been… vague. But he isn't going to tell her that. After all, the poor woman was so worried, the last thing he should do is make her feel silly. Her concerns were definitely valid! They promise they'll look into it and head out towards the woods. Once they're out of range, Claude says to Rose,)
There's probably a logical explanation for everything.
no subject
[But after hearing the barmaid speak? She's beginning to agree with Claude. The 'phantom' has hardly any of the traits she'd expect from an angry spirit.]
I hate to say it, but I think you're correct.
no subject
(She just kept stressing about THE GREEN GLOW and making a huge deal over that. Why? It was kind of anticlimatic and uneventful for a spooky tale.)
Regardless, we should look before the rumor grows. The last thing this place needs is unnecessary panic.
(Let's go! To those woods.)
no subject
[Is she speaking from experience?]
Nevertheless, I agree. I'd rather put out the fires before they start.
[Flashcut to the forest.]
no subject
But here they are at the forest now and would you look at that? Scattered across the their line of sight is a light glow...)
Hey, check it out.
(Pointing ahead.)

[Rose walks over to where Claude is pointing. She has her weapon at the ready, but as it turns out, she doesn't need it.]
It's a flower.
[Color her unimpressed.]
no subject
I've never seen one like this before, though.
(he reaches out to touch it, as if to see if anything might happen.... nope, nothing!)
It isn't green but... (He moves one of the leaves closer to the glowing bud. It illuminates the leaves, making it reflect a bright green.) I think we might be onto something here.
no subject
I believe you may be correct. Were someone to see one of these in the middle of the night, it would certainly appear to be floating.
no subject
(If they look around them, there are quite a few!)
She also mentioned the ghost was "walking."
(And these flowers aren't going anywhere.)
