[ Sadly, Keith is probably in the adult category, being as old as he is, and he wants that reward. He already has a sword on him from the first time he went to the mines, but. You know what, he's here, and he wouldn't mind picking up another cool sword either. He doesn't mind that there's four of them, either; the extra manpower seems like it'll be helpful. Surely nothing will go wrong here. ]

Our rewards, maybe?

[ Wouldn't that be nice... ]

We should probably come up with some kind of plan before we go in. Can't remember if I mentioned this already, but my Vision's Hydro.

[ Okay, fuck following adults, though? Ed is fine working with other people - he does it all the time - but he's not great at playing follow the leader if he doesn't absolutely have to, so he's probably near the front of the pack here. It's fine! Let him do his thing and feel big! (He's probably the shortest person in this group but that's fine, too. ]

Cryo. [ So those three have good synergy... ] How whole do these ore have to be, exactly?

[ ...Did any of them bother to get details? ]

[Anastasia is also in the adult category, but considering how she is... Best to let Keith take the title of responsible one. So she hangs back a little as well, mostly thinking about what kind of weapon she wants to commission this time. A polearm would be good...]

And I'm Pyro! [She waves her hands, and lookie there's the little flames. So it's a group of good reactions, based on what she's read. This should be interesting.]

In my experience, fist-sized chunks or bigger have worked best. But he's happy, or close to it, so long as you bring him something back.

Electro, Cryo, and Pyro...

[ Keith can absolutely be the responsible adult (???) here, but as much as he wants to plan some sort of functional strategy, he has no idea how the different Visions react. Save for Cryo and Hydro, though. ]

I know that Ed and I can freeze the rocks and break them with our Visions. No idea what Pyro and Electro do, though.

[ He looks towards the others, searching for answers. Any ideas, gang? He's got nothing!! ]

Sounds like putting those two together would be pretty explosive, if I had to guess.

[ Ed, who has already spent hours/days in the library: ]

We can make use of a few elemental reactions with this spread. Probably the best would be mixing either of us Cryo with Pyro or Electro. See what clicks.

[ The short one, carrying this entire team on his back--

Anyway, he turns to Claude and says:
]

Yeah, well, you're not alone there.

[ Keith's already making his way into the mines, though. He should probably do more research on the elemental reactions but he's guessing he'll learn...a lot...about that today. The mines are, indeed, very dark and not very spacious whatsoever. It'll be dangerous if something goes wrong, huh... ]

Alright. Keep an eye out for the ore and don't do anything you'll regret later.

[ That's rich coming from you, Keith!!! ]

I'm sure it'll be fine!

[At least Anastasia seems to be... very at ease about all this, and the fact that this is a very dark and enclosed mine which could end in disaster if they aren't careful. So she decides to be helpful and brings a small ball of flame to life in her hand, helping to illuminate the area for now.]

I do know one reaction, with Pyro and Electro, that could help with mining. It's a bit explosive if you aren't careful, though.

[Only baby explosions allowed, especially in a small space with people.]

It's fine! We have to learn somehow, right?

[ Ed, who has never given a fuck about property damage in his life -

Well, that's not true. He will always fix things for civilians but like, in the general sense? Property damage occurs sometimes. And it's not like they're near any houses right now! ]

[Rose had originally chose to pickup this quest because of her experience dealing with spirits. Even if she didn't have her powers here, she was still willing to attempt to calm angry ghosts, if only so they could move peacefully onward.]

[But after hearing the barmaid speak? She's beginning to agree with Claude. The 'phantom' has hardly any of the traits she'd expect from an angry spirit.]

I hate to say it, but I think you're correct.

It certainly lacked the hallmarks of any actual spirits.

[Is she speaking from experience?]

Nevertheless, I agree. I'd rather put out the fires before they start.

[Flashcut to the forest.]

[Somethings are better to not know. For example, how vengeful an actual spirit can be. But that aside--]

[Rose walks over to where Claude is pointing. She has her weapon at the ready, but as it turns out, she doesn't need it.]

It's a flower.

[Color her unimpressed.]

[Rose kneels down in turn, inspecting the flower. She doesn't have her powers here, but even she can tell there's nothing inherently magic about the flowers. Strange, perhaps, but nothing inherently special.]

I believe you may be correct. Were someone to see one of these in the middle of the night, it would certainly appear to be floating.
