For Jun!
[When Jun comes to, he appears to be in a cave. It's acting as a holding cell of some sort. There are several people who appear to be captured, but none of whom are wearing restraints. On the outside of the arena are a group of soldiers carrying spears and strange looking beastmen.]
[Most notably, Rose is among the captured. She appears to be several years younger than the Rose he met on South Sister Island, and is visibly more afraid than he's probably used to seeing. The soldiers and beastmen appear to be preparing for some sort of ritual, but what kind is it?]

Well surprisingly, he finds himself in a cave, in some holding cell. He doesn't recognize the creatures that are standing with the guards...but he does recognize Rose, younger as she may be. So this was her past?
Sometimes you can interact with memories, and sometimes you can't. There's only one way to find out--]
Rose?
no subject
[When she hears her name, she snaps around. Hopefully Jun isn’t expecting her to be any nicer; if anything, she’s much rougher around the edges than the Rose he’s used to. Perhaps it’s just that she’s scared right now.]
Yes. Do I know you? We’re all about to die here, you know.
no subject
Not really, sorry...I've just seen you around town. [It's a lie, but whatever. He'll roll with it. Time to act like an innocent kid ]
What's going on? I just woke up in here...
no subject
Are you daft? They’re about to summon a primal! Once that happens, we’re all done for. There’s no going back.
[She may have been raised in Hingashi, but even she’s aware of what a threat tempering in. Where is this kid from that he doesn’t know?]
no subject
[A primal? Yeah, that could mean all sorts of things...a giant ape? a dinosaur? some ancient monster from the deep?]
What's that exactly? It sounds bad.
no subject
[Rose is about to answer when she’s cut off abruptly. Whatever ritual they were preparing for is now complete. The flames nearby seem to be jumping, as a monstrous figure appears, almost as if out of nowhere.]
[Even though Rose instinctively clutches her staff, she knows it’s not going to do much good. Tempering aside, Ifrit is much bigger than she is.]
That.

He watches the thing appear. He didn't need elemental sight to tell him this thing was chock to the brim with fire energy. Some ancient beast then. Probably on par with a high tier grim greed. It's a shame he has yet to regain his powers of light, but he'll just have to make do.
While others around cower, he immediately drops his lost kid act and summons his sword. He's not keen on waiting to see if he winds up to be this thing's lunch]
Behind me!
no subject
[It may not have affected Jun, but it's certainly affected the other people in the area. If Jun looks around, he'll notice that besides him and Rose, the other people who were in the cave with them seem to be in some sort of thrall. Meanwhile, Rose seems to be confused. She's examining herself curiously.]
I'm...still me?
no subject
Tch, so a thralling ability... [it does seem Rose is unaffected, and since she had to have survived through this memory] Rose, we need to take it out!
[How pesky. Well, he knows there's no point hanging near these people. They might decide to try to restrain them to their lord. So he's going to dart ahead, towards the beast, with every intent to attack. Whether Rose follows him or not? Is up to her.]
no subject
What!? I can’t! I—-
[“might have fought before, but this is different! This is a primal!” is what she wants to say, but she can’t get the words out. And then it slowly dawns on her.]
[If she doesn’t fight now, she’s going to die. She should have stayed home—-that part feels like a given. But if she ever wants to see home again, she needs to survive. She picks up her staff, and leaps in after Jun, doing her best to stay behind him.]
I’ll do what I can. But don’t expect much.
no subject
Just fight as hard as you can! You'll be fine!
[And that's as much pep talk as he can manage. As he charges forward, he uses his vision to form a lance made of stone, launching it at Ifrit before leaping high to strike with his own sword. The speed and way he moves exceeds any normal human capabilities, but he's still fighting a Primal so you know. Definitely going to need Rose's help here]

[Rose catches sight of what Jun is doing, and begins to channel her magic. There's not much she can do now, only heal wounds and conjure rocks and wind. But it is something, and so she concentrates as hard as she can and materializes as many rocks as possible. It's not much, but it should do something, even if that something is just giving Jun an opening to attack as she hurls rocks at Ifrit.]
Try now!
no subject
Her throwing rocks does serve to distract the beast, as it tries to focus on both fo them at once. It gives enough an opening for Jun to propel himself in the air to get close enough to hit]
Now die!
[He'll yell out as he stabs the sword into the primal. It'll hurt the beast for sure, but this is a primal- so it probably takes more to actually kill it]
no subject
[Ifrit screams in pain, and summons a series of small pillars throughout the arena. Are these the source of his power? Rose looks around, confused.]
Blast! What now?
no subject
He's gaining powers from the pillars! Can you destroy some while I distract him?
no subject
['Try' being the operative word. Much like her counterpart in Mondstadt, Rose is a healer. She doesn't have skills for doing large amounts of damage. Her capabilities for harming things right now are limited to: 1) throw rocks, and 2) summon wind around things.]
[And yet somehow, somehow, she makes it work. She doesn't make quick work of the pillars, but she is able to destroy them after a little bit of time. Once she's done, she turns towards Jun, who has been keeping Ifrit's attention.]
Now! He should be weak.
[Probably? Who knows how this works.]
no subject
And when the final pillar goes down? He gives a nod at her]
Alright! [He jumps back, holding his hand out as he channels his vision]
Now die! [There's a surge of geo energy, shortly before a rain of small meteors fill the sky and start pelting Ifrit ]
