APRIL MINGLE

April Mingle: Song of the Dragon and Freedom
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.

As time continues to reset itself, a certain restlessness and sense of anticipation begins to build up in Mondstadt, as if the whole world itself is waiting with bated breath. At last, the final light barrier unlocks itself, and Dvalin awaits the outlanders amidst a vortex of howling winds. All that remains is to remove the poisonous spikes that torments him, and his tears shoudl fall no more...

With the passages of long years and amid boudless darkness, even the purest gem will become dulled by dust, and even the noble dragon might be corrupted and cankered by hatred. But never forget that dust can be wiped away, and the power of doubt and poison can be shattered. These are the thoughts that Venti sends off with the outlanders - should any of them fall from the tower, he'll be there to give them a quick hand back up.

Dvalin is a powerful and ancient dragon, but it soon becomes evident that he doesn't have the heart to kill the people who have come to see him. However, a team effort is still necessary to distract him so that others can snipe at the toxic spines stuck through his body. Once the last thorn is pulled free, the curse is violently ejected from Dvalin's body and the howling winds finally cease.

The next five days are a blur - when you wake up, the city has decorated itself in a celebration of love, friendship, and freedom - a perfect conclusion for a rather harrowing period in Mondstadt's history. As repayment for your help in solving the Stormterror crisis, the games and food stalls put up for the festival will not charge anything for participation.

Music, gift exchanges, shooting and gliding competitions are just seeral of the various activities organized by the Knights of Favonius. With the peace returned to Mondstadt, your trip to Teyvat now seems poised to become a vacation - but the job of a hero is never done, and a little nocturnal bird leads you to a mysterious glowing door beyond which answers await.

State of the World

On August 31st, the last barrier in Stormterror's Lair dissipates, allowing characters to ascend to the top of the tower and confront the dragon Dvalin. Battle is inevitable, though the goal is not to kill the dragon, but to remove all the toxic spikes that Abyss Mages have embedded into his body. After liberating Dvalin from his grief and poison, characters return to Mondstadt lauded as heroes - just in time for the Windblume Festival! It's time for a short but well-earned vacation... and it seems your mysterious host has a message for you too.

Catch-all space for Jun! I'll be throwing up starters as they come to me, but you can also hit me up with a prompt or plot something out with me at [plurk.com profile] neutronstar

To give a brief rundown of Jun's antics:
- Jun will not be present during the Duvalin fight, rather opting to observe from a safe distance for Reasons. Perhaps they can notice that, or find him investigating the battlegrounds after the fact.

- During the festival, he'll be open to doing most things! He'll be decent at the archery and gliding contest, but any music stuff he'll for sure struggle with. How does one play music he does not know.

- After speaking with Forenus, he will have a questionably large amount of money and will be preparing for Dragonspine via buying supplies and winter clothing. If he recognizes you as a traveler, he will volunteer to help them do the same - even giving them money! How generous!

- Otherwise you can find him practicing with geo outside the city, reading at the library, or standing on rooftops at night.

i. dvalin fight

[If you want to team up with someone for the fight, Minako's your girl! Though she's...not using a glider, she's riding another dragon. Not as big as Dvalin, but still a hecking big dragon. Seth is launching fireballs at the spikes, helping to weaken them before others snipe them.

Once the fight is over, Seth lands near where everyone has been set down, Minako staring up at Dvalin in awe as he starts flying away.]

He's so cool.

[As if she isn't sitting on a really cool dragon right now.]

ii. windblume festival

[Festival time! Minako is pretty hyped at first, even if she's sneezing every ten seconds. So much pollen in the air. You'll find her playing the Domain games, but after a certain point of the festival, she'll just be hanging out near the fountain, eyes watering and looking miserable.]

Ughhhh, my non-existent kingdom for some Allegra right now...

iii. wildcard

[Aaaah I dropped the ball in March, I'm so sorry to people I made plans with! If people still want Minako for memshares, feel free to PM this journal or message me at [plurk.com profile] raynestorm. I'm happy to write a custom starter for this event too. Just let me know!]

I. Duvalin Fight
[Elliot didn't know he was supposed to bring a dragon like Minako did, so all he really brought to the fight is his trusty staff. That's not to say he can't handle himself! He's got his own array of ameno and water spells to launch at the dragon - as well as healing spells for anyone who get themselves hurt.

When it's all over, getting treated to a ride on a dragon's back? Yeah, it's pretty awesome. He's in good spirits as he slides off the dragon's back onto the ground]

Hehe, maybe not as smooth as an airship - but I could used to that! [Yeah he had fun] Is everyone else alright?

II. Windblume Festival
[Save the city from the corrupted dragon, have a party. It's like deja vu...minus the sense of impeding dread that the Heimdallr Summer Festival had. But Elliot is all too familiar with how quikly things can go south, so he's going to choose to enjoy himself.

It's no surprise that he's drawn to the music games. Within no time, he wins the top prizes. But since music is more fun when it's shared, he'll then go around and help with anyone that's struggling to get through the beginner sections.]

Here, it's easier if you hold the lyre like this...! [He's polite enough not to adjust their hands without permission, so he'll just hold his own lyre to reflect it]

III. Wildcard

[Dvalin]

[Despite her better judgment, Rose volunteers to be part of the group fighting Dvalin. She’s no stranger to combat with otherworldly beings, nor is she any stranger to combat when it involves dragons several times her size. Her expression during the fight can best be described as “annoyed but not particularly phased.”]

[For most of the fight, she’ll be doing triage and looking for anybody wounded. Whether it’s a minor scrape or something more major, don’t be surprised to see Rose come up to you in combat.]

Are you still able to move?

[Regardless of your reply, she’ll likely try to heal you anyway.]

[Windblume Part One]

[After a long several months, Rose has finally been reunited with her favorite weapon—-her machinist sidearm. To anybody from a more modern setting, the fact that it’s really nothing but an old style gun is immediately apparent.]

[It feels like it’s been a long time since she’s had a proper vacation, and she plans to make the most of it. She can be found at any one of the shooting games, weapon in hand. For being somebody so bad at fighting, she’s a relatively good shot. If you’re in the area with her, she’ll turn to you after finishing her round, oddly happy.]

Would you like a go?

[Alternatively, if you try to talk her into gliding (or god forbid playing music), her response is much less amicable.]

No. Absolutely not.

[Windblume Part 2]

[But night eventually falls, and when it does, it’s not hard to imagine where Rose is going to be. She frequents the tavern, and a festival seems as good an excuse as any to indulge. She’s even being friendly and sociable! Whether your character wants to talk to her or not.]

You know, of all the times I’ve fought gods, this has probably been the easiest to manage. It’s nice not to have to kill something, for once.

[Should she say that so casually?]
