JUNE MINGLE

June Mingle: Time For A Hike
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Finally, it's time to leave Death Mountain for warmer climates. THe Travelers will begin their journey from Mondstadt to Liyue on the first of November, after packing up and saying goodbye the Mondstadt's Adventurers' Guild. But worry not - if you ever miss the City of Wind and Song, it's possible to teleport back for a brief visit.

Speaking of Forneus, it seems that he's too busy to accompany you on this road trip. Instead, Zhongli will serve as his stand-in. For those who do not know him well, he introduces himself as an Adeptus... and also the Geo Archon, who has enlisted your help to test his nation. What will you do?
State of the World
June will be a lighter period in the game for characters to bond with each other while traveling as a group, and later while exploring and trolling Liyue to the best of their ability. Forneus will not be available for the first two weeks as he is busy; instead Zhongli is tasked with answering questions in his place. A reference of the scenery your character might see on the way can be found in this video here! Feel free to check out Liyue's music here as well.
For all questions regarding June's mingle and events, please head over to our OOC post.
Re: II
it looks like this time, it's a bunch of flowers going up the hill that have caught her eye- some, she's seen a bit more often now, but others...? not so much. instead of just racing up there herself, however, jinx pauses to stay close. they're talking, after all. )
I don't mind.
... My little corner of home doesn't have things like this- or at least, not close by. And work keeps me in the city. It's neat, getting to see everything.
( because she feels that she has to justify being childishly curious at the old age of... sixteen. )

Oh, is that so? [Rean sounds genuinely curious.] Back home, I only know a couple of cities that have grown to the size of not having many plants anymore. And even then, Heimdallr still has the park within reach.
[He smiles.]
It's cool for me, too, though. [And he's totally an adult at the ripe old age of 20!] No matter where I go, I always love seeing how the land is laid out. Even if you're used to the wilds, everything's always just a little bit different.
[Rean appreciates Jinx pausing for him, but he'll keep his pace up for her sake. He's the one tagging along, after all! It wouldn't do for him to hold her back.]

The parks are... decent, I guess, but like. It's all manufactured and streamlined. Perfect looking trees and perfect looking paths and everything... it feels so fake.
It's a nice change of pace, honestly. Having something real.

Rean looks up a little, thinking back to Mater Park.]
Yeah, I can understand that. If your parks are anything like the one in Heimdallr... yeah, it's pretty, but it still feels kind of like the rest of the city.
"Real" is a good word for all of this, in comparison. I guess... untamed? As if people like us or any of the other humans here don't have much sway over any of it.
Heh. Kind of reminds me how small we are, in the grand scheme of things. But I don't mind that.

Some find that line of thought disconcerting.
( and she's not one of them, not in the least. humans are meant to be small- but even small things can make great changes. she wants to be great among people- but in the scale of everything, she is stardust and nothing more.
it's fine. dwbi. )
It's... really nice here, actually. I don't have my magic back, not yet, but. Even now I can tell, this world is healthy because of how open the wilds are.

I guess so. But really, I think this whole thing is kind of disconcerting... like asking a bunch of ants to topple a picnic. Might as well have the scenery match up.
[But as for the latter half of it, he's definitely lost that sardonic edge and has gone back to being more... well, wonder-struck.]
But yeah, I agree. It's nice to see the world thriving like this. I've been in a lot of places, but I think I'm always happiest in places like these... where it's never far to go to find some peace and quiet and just connect with the world naturally.
[Something something poetic reasoning about blades of grass on the wind or drops in ponds? Whatever, Rean's a nerd. More importantly, because Rean's curious:]
But what does your magic have to do with it?

( maybe soon, though. )

[Rean laughs a little sheepishly.]
I've gotten involved with a whole lot of people who have a much better understanding of mana and magic and all that stuff than I ever will. But I guess I know what you mean, in a way.
I've never known of it as any kind of magic or anything, but I usually have way more of a sense of what's going on than other people do. It's just... always been there.
[It probably wouldn't hurt, if and whenever he gets back home, to call up his witch friend and just... ask if that's related to magic or anything. She'd know better than him. But anyway:]
I hope you get your magic back soon, though. It is... weird to feel like you've been stripped of something that's always been a part of you.

( it's been great that she can, like, be around people without her presence making something go wrong, though. but... even a curse is a comfort, when it's all you've ever known. and she wasn't kidding about the empty feeling. it's a hollowness that she knows she can't fill, not even with the vision. ... yikes, too personal, time to deflect. )
... So, how long have you been here?
