JUNE MINGLE

June Mingle: Time For A Hike
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.

Finally, it's time to leave Death Mountain for warmer climates. THe Travelers will begin their journey from Mondstadt to Liyue on the first of November, after packing up and saying goodbye the Mondstadt's Adventurers' Guild. But worry not - if you ever miss the City of Wind and Song, it's possible to teleport back for a brief visit.

The Travelers will head out of Mondstadt through Stone Gate, cross Dihua Marsh and then reach the Guili Plains. You'll be camping out under the stars on some days, while getting to enjoy various roadside inns on other days - including the famed Wangshu Inn, all under Forneus' bill. But it does bring up a question: where did he get all that mora from?

Speaking of Forneus, it seems that he's too busy to accompany you on this road trip. Instead, Zhongli will serve as his stand-in. For those who do not know him well, he introduces himself as an Adeptus... and also the Geo Archon, who has enlisted your help to test his nation. What will you do?

State of the World

June will be a lighter period in the game for characters to bond with each other while traveling as a group, and later while exploring and trolling Liyue to the best of their ability. Forneus will not be available for the first two weeks as he is busy; instead Zhongli is tasked with answering questions in his place. A reference of the scenery your character might see on the way can be found in this video here! Feel free to check out Liyue's music here as well.

For all questions regarding June's mingle and events, please head over to our OOC post.

[Rose sighs. On some level, he’s absolutely correct. She’s faced danger enough times to know that while she absolutely doesn’t enjoy it, there are some truths that are only revealed when you find yourself confronting death.]

[Not that it makes this easier to swallow.]

You aren’t incorrect, but what if the people aren’t up to your challenge? Humans are notoriously fickle creatures, after all.

I will restore everything to its previous state.

[ And that's that. Don't forget that he's still a god right now. ]

[Ultimate power. Right. She’s not used to this.]

At least you use your powers for good. Well, I suppose the group will try their best.

[ Zhongli sighs, letting the silence trail for a few seconds before answering. ]

If you are wondering why there is a conspicuous lack of significant threats in Liyue's recent history, it is due to the fact that most great dangers have already been slain centuries before.

That’s quite impressive.

[Rose turns her head to the side. Will she ever stop giving her opinions to people who aren’t asking for them?]

I’m sure that as a god, you have an easy enough time with external threats. But all the civilizations I’ve known had a tendency to eat themselves alive.

I assume those civilizations were not raised by gods.

[ Humans did have a tendency to revert to basal instincts without a guide. That's not something Zhongli will stop believing in. ]

You would be correct. They called upon gods in their time of need, but they were hardly a present force. Only something to be feared.

[And not even in the good way.]

It would be natural that civilizations without guidance would flounder.

[ There's the godly perspective. ]

After all, guidance is what proper gods like me are duty-bound to provide.

[Rose looks at Zhongli warily. He's not wrong, but she's certain that she's heard that line of thinking at least once before.]

And what if your guidance is wrong, or your gods are corrupt?

Gods who have failed their duty will fall from power and risk their very existence.

[ Zhongli folds his arms. ]

I understand that the gods of your world are imagined from the minds of mortals. Such entities would be fundamentally different from true gods, who hold power without relying on mortal definitions.

I see. So you aren’t imagined by the minds of the citizens of Liyue, you exist independently of them. How interesting.

[This is, all in all, a novel concept for her. Even Hydaelyn isn’t above being born from the minds of mortals.]

And Celestia is falling from power now?
pragmatism: (02)

[personal profile] pragmatism 2021-07-03 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
They have escaped downfall by maintaining the order of this world, though the perverse way they choose to do it will result in their downfall by a yet higher power.

[ Does he mean Forneus? Perhaps. ]

We Archons are tasked with our duties by Celestia. However, Celestia itself is also beholden to a certain set of rules. Their fall will require a longer time than that of the Archons, just as how the downfall of Archons require a longer time than that of human kings.

[personal profile] poisontippedcure 2021-07-06 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[A longer time than that of the Archons? Peculiar.]

And I suppose that's why the archons have to act in secret. If Celestia knew what you were doing, she would strip you of your powers, would she not?
pragmatism: (45)

[personal profile] pragmatism 2021-07-10 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
That is correct. We are bound by additional rules as long as we serve Celestia as it's proxies.

[ The price of a Gnosis... ]

There is one individual whose throne allows him more freedom. For this reason he uses his authority to cloak us from the eyes of Celestia as well. But his power too has its limits.
