June Mid-Month Event: Settling In
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
At last, we've reached Liyue, the city of Stone and Contracts. Everyone gets assigned to a small house just like in Mondstadt, equipped with the basic amenities and the ability to redecorate your place at will. Oh yeah, and it's a teapot. Wait, what?

Placing the pot on a flat surface will teleport you within. A finch spirit greets each Traveler inside, introducing itself as Tubby. Tubby is here to assist you in decorating your
There's no risk of your house being moved or trampled on while you're inside. The pot will be concealed using adeptal arts when in use, rendering it undetectable to all except those you wish to invite for a visit. It's pretty handy, huh? Why not take the two weeks until the official start of the mission to decorate?

As for what sort of news you'll overhear in the lounge: the Fatui are actively investigating Liyue, seeking out the whereabouts of Rex Lapis. As for what will happen when they do find him... wouldn't you like to find out?

Contrary to most of the Adepti who consider themselves above humans, Reed Painter has lived alongside humanity for centuries. He invites travelers to pay a visit to Jueyun Karst, so that they can see the realm in which the Adepti reside, and how distant it has become from the outside world.
Jueyun Karst is the very picture of a hidden paradise, devoid of any sign of civilization and filled with beautiful scenery. Do mind your manners when you're in the stone forests, though. Even a Sigil of Permission can't protect you from the Adepti's wrath should you dirty their lawn too much...
State of the World
Characters will be told by Forneus that they don't necessarily have to work for the next two weeks. They can if they want to, but they can also fix up their house and do other personal things. If you do want to do some work: you can take commissions from the Adventurers' Guild, the Liyue Ministry of Civil Affairs, or from the Fatui. Comment below with the faction of your choice and the mods will give your character a task to do. This will let your characters know more about them and get hints for July's happenings.
If your character wants to cause chaos immediately, you can don your Fatui Disguise (a glamour spell courtesy of Forneus) and fall in with the fantasy Russians. Causing chaos ranges from lurking menacingly in Liyue to actively breaking into government storehouses and other minor felonies. Don't worry, you will be teleported to safety should you get caught.
Retroactively, the vote about Dragonspine has been tallied, and the Mondstadt Adventurers' Guild will be informed of Vindagnyr by a woman dressed in black.

Yu had wanted to enjoy the scenery by herself, but she hadn't expect to run into someone else. Her reply is hesitant, though it comes way later.]
It is, but...what is even the benefit to all of this? It seems like taking too much of a risk.
no subject
Benefit for us being here? Or for this place being here?

She takes note that he’s not coming near her, and her shoulders relax a bit. For now, at least.]
This place. I get we’re being granted permission, but what if it invites trouble, like someone bringing back a prohibited ancient relic? Or it gets sold for some land development down the line??
Sorry! DW didn't send this notif!
Well, I don't think anyone in our group works for Liyue real estate companies, so we probably don't have to worry about that latter today.
As for the other...well, considering this is the land of the Adepti, I imagine there'd be hell to pay for anyone who tries that. So don't take anything with you.
DW pls...! And no worries, it's alright!
[Whoops, that might have been too much. She hadn’t meant to snap back a bit, so she shakes her head and clears her throat.]
That’s good, at least. It’s not too often one hears of forests being loved and taken care of to great lengths. Really...I’m glad.
[Her tone comes out soft as she says it, and though she turns her face away from Jun to look over at the trees, there’s a gentle smile on her face.]

[He doesn't seem fazed by her snapping at him. It's cool.]
I take it you're a lover of nature, then.

[A lot of ways...]
There’s just something calming about seeing each and every part of natural life converging into a sort of harmony, you know?
no subject
[He nods]
There is something soothing about this area. A kind of peace you don't see in the harbor.

[As she hasn’t been here in this world for very long, it comes as a surprise to her.]
But, even that has its charms too. It feels a lot more vibrant than steel walls and gray blocks towering over everything.
[And entirely bleached landscapes, not that she can say anything about it...]
no subject
Is that what your world's like?
no subject
[She’s about to continue on her little tirade when she catches herself, and clears her throat once again. Whoops, nearly lost almost all of her cool there. Or what’s left of it, even.]
Anyway, I’m just not fond of huge cities at all!
no subject
A-Ah, yeah...I can see that alright.
