August Mingle
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Happy new year....! In Teyvat, that is. It is now January ingame, and Liyue's people go about their disaster recovery efforts with more vigour than before. After all, Liyue's biggest festival is slated to occur in the latter half of the month - the Lantern Rite!

The Rite of Parting - Rex Lapis' funeral - passes without much incident, and Liyue collectively breathes a sigh of relief. With the Fatui being chased out of the yard, it seems that peace will finally return to the harbour city as they rebuild from the storm. You'll also get to watch three million Mora's worth of incense go up in smoke, so there's that.
Eager to focus on the future, Liyue folk have begun discussing the upcoming festival. The Lantern Rite commemorates hope for a new beginning and continued prosperity, and the construction of the festival centerpiece is currently underway. This year's Mingxiao Lantern will soar into the sky amidst thousands of smaller lanterns, and it will take the shape of a fallen Adeptus to commemorate the Adepti's contribution to Liyue's lasting peace.

Unfortunately, you're not quite out of the frying pan yet. With the Fatui gone from Liyue, the Ministry of Civil Affairs turn their attention to solving another issue that has cropped up after Osial's revival and subsequent defeat. Quite a few miners have gone missing from the Chasm, and the likelihood of finding them will only grow slimmer as the days go by. Both the Millelith and the Adventurers' Guild have pitched in to search for the kidnapped people. All clues lead to Nantianmen - and it's just your luck that Geovishaps and their hatchlings have come out of hibernation at around the same time. These lizard-like beings have shells of solid rock, and they seem especially agitated at having their territory invaded. Solving the mystery of the missing miners will take more than just a day's work.
State of the World
With the Lantern Rite set to open on January 21st, all of Liyue have come to visit the harbour to set up their stalls and pitch in to craft the Mingxiao Lantern. Hopefully the miners are found before the festival begins - the Lantern Rite is a festival of reunions, after all. Not to mention the Geovishaps' increased activity will inadvertently lead to them burrowing around in the rocky mountains. There's a small, but non-zero chance of them hitting an ancient seal somewhere and unleashing a buried threat.
Unless... that was their intention all along?

[ They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. ]
A restaurant with outdoor seating? That's even better. Where do you usually eat? Indoors?
no subject
[Like many things in life, Jun is ambivalent to the concept of breakfast. ]
I don't have a preference. But with how much you smell, I'd imagine the other patrons wouldn't appreciate you sitting in a closed room with them.
no subject
[ He doesn't even deny it. Sometimes he would chase a monster all the way into the depths and leaves him smelling funky. ]
I got kicked out of a few buildings. They're the assholes, not me. I'm a paying customer so I'd just like breakfast and then I'll leave.
[ There's a pause and he looks at Jun curiously. ]
You need to eat.
no subject
[He looks confused at that last part. Where'd that come from?]
Er, I do?
no subject
[ He's grown too accustomed to the hobo life to care for life in a teapot. Honestly. ]
You need to fucking eat. You're still growing, aren't you?
no subject
[Just saying!!!]
Yeah, I guess so. Are you offering to get me breakfast?
no subject
[ He's permanently stinky but Jun does have a point. Using the teapot more might help solve some problems. ]
I'll offer you breakfast this time since you've graciously shown me a good place to dine.
no subject
[It's not his problem, at the end of the day. He told the guy, that's enough]
You sure? Well, alright, thank you. I won't turn down a free breakfast.
no subject
[ He's not going to miss a few daggers or short swords, but he can't bear to part with his whip or the morning star. Some weapons are too important to let go of. ]
It's not like I've got a real job. Make this meal count!!
no subject
[TREVOR...]
Wait, are you just planning to sell your weapons anytime you need mora?!
no subject
[He nods once and then shrugs. It's not too big of a deal to him.]
I'll just do what's necessary to continue my journey. That's all. Hunting sometimes pays well back where I'm from. What about you? How are you making coins?
no subject
[his answer is simple]
He did bring us to this world to complete a job for him, so it's only apt he pay a commission fee for my services.
no subject
[ good thinking, Jun. Trevor wonders why he never thought of that before. Though, really Jun is smart for his age. ]
How much is he paying you exactly??
no subject
[Insert a ridiculously high amount of mora here. Like the kind of money that makes one go "damn son that's insane"]
no subject
[Yeah, Jun is loaded so surely he can afford meals and have a decent living situation? It's completely the opposite of Trevor who by nature is kind of broke. He sleeps in bushes at night and wakes up with grass in his clothing. ]
What would you even do with that much coins? Buy beef everyday?
no subject
[So that's why he gets paid the big bucks! he knows his value]
Haha, no not exactly - it gets divided up. A portion of it goes to my living expenses, as well as the expenses of people who assist me. I also put some aside to give to the group I work for back home.
Then anything that's left over after I do all that, I give to charity.
no subject
[ What kind of logic is this. It's terrible logic, but Trevor never said that using his brain and making things stick was his strong point.]
Are you living inside of a goddamn castle?
no subject
[Trevor, trevor please]
No, I live in the teapot that Forneus provided to everyone.
no subject
[ Hey man you can influence lots of people with gold. ]
Yes, you live in a teapot but is your teapot full of gold?
no subject
[He tries to stay out of that stuff even!]
Not really.
no subject
[ a wealth punk doesn't sound accurate but Jun doesn't seem like a noble too. It is a mystery. ]
A commoner?
no subject
[Well.
That answers nothing.]
