September Event
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Before we depart for our next destination, it seems Forneus has arranged a treasure hunt for everyone... on the beach?

Characters are now able to access the Golden Apple Archipelago, a group of islands lying far off in the ocean east of Mondstadt. Arriving first on Pudding Isle, Travelers will need to glide down from the cliffs onto the beach, where several tents and a bonfire have been set up. A handy Teleport Waypoint nearby allows for traveling back to the camp, as well as to Liyue if you need to stock up on any supplies. The sunlight is warm, the waves are clear, and the breeze is crisp - it's perfect!

A compass-shaped device nearby allows for the summoning of Waverider boats. These boats are piloted by slotting one's Vision into a slot near the steering wheel. There's a catch, though - if a Waverider is nearby, the device will not summon another. Meaning if you are traveling with a friend, there will only be one boat. Better decide who's going to drive.

Apart from the usual Elemental Monument puzzles and occasional monsters guarding chests, you can also find Echoing Conches scattered around the islands. These conches will play back voices of a bygone time when you hold them up to your ear. Many of them whisper of the people who once lived here. Thankfully, their story does not end in tragedy. You might find it rewarding to retrace their footsteps through the islands too.

Minnacious Isle seems to hold a ruin that's upside down. Investigating the monuments and various puzzles might tell you why. Forneus has left various Golden Apples hidden in chests around the islands - find them, and he promises a reward for you. Better get out there and turn over some stones!

State of the World

The Travelers' next destination is the nation of the Electro Archon. However, Forneus needs time to figure out a way to smuggle everyone in - Inazuma is under a Sakoku Decree, preventing anyone from going in and out without express authorization. However, he says he has a contact within Inazuma who can facilitate everyone's permits... but it takes time. For now, he hopes you'll enjoy your time on the islands. The oppressive atmosphere of Inazuma means relaxation won't be on the schedule for quite some time.

[ Forneus is either in his office or walking around on the beach. Maybe at the same time. It's weird. ]

I - Sand and Surf

[Sand is something Sooga's well-acquainted with; one doesn't live their entire life on the edge of the Gerudo Desert and not become very familiar with the substance. Beach sand, however, he quickly finds is a different beast than desert sand. Here, the sand doesn't get hot enough to burn thanks to the ocean.

It's a testament to how much the Yiga has come to trust the group that anyone who comes across him while he's exploring the beach (or staring at the ocean mistrustfully) will notice he's without parts of his usual attire, including the balaclava that normally keeps his head from view. Who knew white was his actual hair color? Or that he had pointed ears?

...The mask remaining where it always is does add to the absurdity of him having a staring contest with a crab though.]

II - The Power of... Friendship...?

[Those who he's allowed to visit his teapot would already know this, but Sooga has a sort of odd kinship with Hilichurl that are less prone to violence. For those that haven't been, it's probably a pretty weird sight to just happen across him having a chat with a few of the masked beings like anyone else might with the locals elsewhere.

I. Taking in the Scenery
[While Elliot was always pretty cheerful, the past couple weeks have brought an Elliot that's in an even better mood than usual. And why wouldn't it? Crow was here, he had a boyfriend, and it's been at least a month since anything horrific has happened! What a time to be alive!

That good mood is carried on as they arrive on at the Archipelago. From camp, he surveys the scenery with some awe]

Man, it's beautiful here! Hehe, almost makes me want to break out the violin and start composing!

[Eventually, he decides it's time to explore the rest of the archipelago. It's nice that they were provided boats...though Elliot has no idea how to steer one. So he'll ask the person nearby who is also planning to sail]

Wandering

[So. Someone is not a fan of the beach. Solor's a tiny inland town, so he's never been, but he already isn't keen on it. He's also not the biggest fan of the sun, and this place is just. All of those things.

So while Julian is having fun swooping around and playing, bringing shells to August (or to anyone he recognizes or who looks fun), August is sitting under a tree not on the beach, using the flattest stone he could find as a makeshift table for some sewing.

Puzzles!

[At some point, Julian just fucks off, screeching in delight at having so much stuff to see and play with, and August has to go chasing after him. He eventually finds a puzzle, and he spends a good while just staring at it, trying to figure it out.

(Tsurumaru is someone people have probably grown used to seeing around or at least, have seen around enough. He's been here since the beginning, after all, and though he's always been a Little Off™ and Kind of A Lot™, he's been friendly enough. During their travels, he's changed his attire here and there but he's he's mostly worn his regular clothes from home so people should be familiar with his look.

So it's definitely noticeable when he shows up with a new look. He's always had a fancy and refined air around him (until you get to him) but he's just grand now. The silk of his kimono and robe is high quality and carefully designed. His armor is high quality and decorated like something one might find for a high-ranking military officer, especially a noble one. There's also something different in the air around him... it's like seeing someone you haven't seen in years; like a friend from your school days who has now grown up...

If you're watching, he'll give you a glance and raise a finger to his lips and smile. Now isn't the time to ask questions. It's time to glide off to the islands for their beach episode…)

[Soak Up the Sun]

[Rose was not entirely on board with how events in Liyue unfolded, and she's spent the last month staying quiet. As much as she wants to stay under the radar, though, there are some things she can't ignore.]

[Like, for example, the beach. Now that she's here, she's taking the time to relax on the shore with a sketchbook open on her lap. She's not going to approach anyone, but she certainly seems more relaxed than usual.]

[Whispers on the Wind]

[Curiosity killed the cat, but that's never stopped Rose before. She picks up a shell, holding it close to her ear.]

"Mother also says that your hometown is far away from here, just like ours. So far away that none of us even know where it is... General, do you ever miss home?"

[She shakes her head, a forlorn expression on her face. If there's anybody nearby, they'll be able to hear her respond:]

Of course he does. Everyone misses their home eventually.

[A Game of Crabs]

[In a moment of weakness, a crab runs by and snatches Rose's hair ornament away from her. In a moment of embarrassment, Rose is having an incredibly difficult time getting it back.]

[The crab seems to have created an impromptu game of "whack-a-crab" and Rose is...not very good at it, to put it gently. By the time she swings, the crab is long gone. Again, and again, and again.]

Stupid crab! Why won't you stay in one place?

i. winter beach time

( jinx is no stranger to the beach in winter- given that jump city is in california, and seems to be surrounded by dessert on one side and the beach on the other, she's used to warmth at all seasons, and even if she's never really gone to the shore to play, the weather is nice and welcome. and... well. maybe she should change that up. it's not like back home, where most people she saw on a day to day basis was civilians who wouldn't understand that sometimes... scars happen. everyone here is a fighter.

so here she is, sundress and all, sitting where the water and sand meet, vibing. it's pretty nice! ... she'll work herself up to normal kid things on her own time okay- )

( she doesn't mean to sound too incredulous, but like. there are only so many people jinx is going to trust behind the waverider's wheel, honestly. but she has a history of crashing things due to her magic just... interfering? so! yeah, she's kind of reluctant to take charge herself. still, it might be too late to ask about that since the shore's quite a bit away now. )

( is it jinx if she's not sitting somewhere with a great view and her sketchpad? this time she's even got some watercolor paints- perfect for the beach, she thinks. and she won't say no to company, either- in fact, once approached, she'll glance up, smile, and return to her work. ... if you look over her shoulder, it's pretty good. )

The Puzzles

[Susato’s always loved the ocean. It reminds her of traveling on the SS Burya and going to London. She’s still wearing her Japanese kimono even in this weather. Her eyes brighten up with joy when she takes in the atmosphere and how warm everything is. When she looks at the ocean more closely she starts to notice more bubbles. ]

I think something might be over there. Would you like to come with me to check it out?

[There are more people on the beach who can help her investigate this thing. She certainly doesn’t want to go alone.]

Sleeping crabs
[ Susato’s only been in this realm for a short while but she’s really enjoyed her time here. Everything’s always fascinating and new to her. She’s even getting a hang of her Electro Vision! Using magic like that is something she’d never thought of doing in a thousand years. Susato’s always been open to newer and different possibilities so she can’t say that she hates being here. Things appear to be going smoothly for the most part.

Still, Sometimes she misses her family and her friends at home. Susato has a pen and paper in her hand. She’s been trying to document how she feels about everything in a book. At some point, she has fallen asleep and there’s a crab walking on her head. Want to wake her up? ]

[ The people are friendly and she’s learned so many different things in such a short while. Susato was pleasantly surprised to find out that Jun appreciates Japanese meals the way she does. In front of her, there’s a large table with a large feast!! She asked for some help preparing ingredients and she was able to put together an Asian-styled meal. There’s plenty of vegetables on it and it looks delicious. ]

Campfire

[Clear blue skies, a beautiful morning, and a pleasant breeze. What more could someone want? The weather today is perfect. It should put anyone in a good mood! It should really make anyone smile unless your name is Trevor Belmont. He genuinely thinks it’s been a long time since he’s had any fun in his life. In his childhood, he would play in a tree and run around in the forest. Maybe he’s gotten too old to do that sort of thing. He sighs and looks a little downcast. Trevor’s idea of fun is playing with knives and swords.

He slices up several blocks of wood in hopes of making a fire. ]

Well, that didn’t go terribly for once. I thought I would burn the entire thing down with my vision again.

[Oh, but wait! It looks like someone else is here. Trevor looks over and puts down his knives back to his side. Instead, he appears to be taking something else out from his pouch and he’s now offering you a small jar.]

Apparently, honey is supposed to last a long time. Do you want to try food that’s older than you?

I. Broken Isle Music Puzzle
[Having a nice time relaxing on the beach? Great. Jun walks up nearby, seemingly preoccupied with his own affairs as he looks at a cliff and then consults a parchment paper. Once he seems to confirm ...something, he rolls up the parchment and starts climbing up the very tall cliff. With no explanation.

Uh. Ok.]

II. Beach Reading
[Jun does recognize that this is meant to be some downtime, so he tries to take advantage on it. He can be sometimes found sitting on the rocks near camp, reading. Depending on the day, he might be reading one or two things:

A. Some books about Inazuma that he found in Liyue. Seems like he's trying to get read up on the nation before the mission starts. Knowledge is power after all.

or-

B. Some goofy manga about a pirate crew. Strangely no matter how long he seems to read the book, he never seems to reach the ending. Forneus enchanted the book to have the entire collection and well.... Perhaps there is no ending. ]
