MAY MINGLE

May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?
State of the World
On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.

I don't think he's gonna hurt me...
[Which is true! But yeah, he still looks like very stiff like this child is being touched by an alien or something.
A hunting dog huh...well. He has no idea if Koromaru hunts, but a dog is a dog right? And Rean usually gives good advice...so he'll tentatively say more]
I'm not...very used to animals. [if that isn't clear] So what do I...do?
[Help.]

[He's teasing a little, but it's pretty clear his heart's not too in it, so he lets it go pretty fast.]
Well... before we even get into the basics on care and feeding, step one is gonna be to pet the dog. [And since Jun looks like he's being touched by an alien...] Have you ever pet a dog before?
no subject
Uh...
[...]
Is it like petting a cat? I've pet one of those before.
no subject
Haha... kind of! You don't have to be as careful, though. Dogs are a lot less prone to attacking, in my experience.
[Rean, this may just be because your usual cat is Celine.]
So... for dogs, the best places to pet them are behind the ears and on their stomachs. Dogs have coarser fur than cats, so when you pet, it should be more like a gentle scratch than just running your hand over the fur.
You'll know when they want a belly rub. Most dogs will roll right over for one.
Why don't you give it a shot?
no subject
[The cat he knew was a good cat that never scratched him, so he is now wondering what the fuck happened in Rean's past to cause cats to attack him.
Nevermind that though. He listens to Rean's instructions. Scratch behind the ear and stomach huh? He's sure he can do that, so he gives a nod and starts to scratch behind Koromaru's ear. Scritch scritch scritch...
In response? Koro will start wagging his tail.]
Oh! That's a good thing, right?
no subject
[Certainly not. Most of them don't talk.
But oh, hey! Tail wagging! This is progress!]
Yeah! That means he's happy with what you're doing! See? You're already a natural. [To be fair, dogs are pretty easy to make happy.] Keep that up. I wonder if he'll roll over for you.
no subject
[Cats love nothing more than someone who is apathetic to them. And thus, he will always be cats #1 favorite kid]
I think he's just easily pleased... [But he continues the petting. There almost seems to be a lightning of his expression as he does so. It's soothing ok.]
no subject
[Rean's life is suffering.]
Haha... well, Koromaru does seem to be a remarkably well-behaved boy, I'll give him that. [Understatement.] But I'll let you in on a secret... most dogs are pretty easily pleased. So really, you may as well be a natural.
[And aww, Jun's enjoying it, too! That's the most important part. Yes, good, bonding.]
Some other basic dog care tips... dogs need a good amount of exercise. Since you're pretty active, though, I don't see that being a problem— just take him out with you, like you're doing here, and that ought to be plenty. Although I imagine he wouldn't turn down being played with every now and again, too.
no subject
[He has zero faith that Rean will listen to that and will once again attempt to pet Celine. Rip Rean]
Yes, he's a very well-mannered boy. [Jun can agree with that, which makes Koro wag his tail more. He's seen dogs in the park before! Koromaru doesn't yap like those dogs.
He keeps making mental notes of Rean's advice. Active...right. He can do that, just bring Koro with him on some of his less dangerous errands. ]
Played with...like playing fetch?
no subject
[You don't understand, Jun!!]
Yeah, playing fetch is good! Or tug-of-war, if you can find a short rope. Just something where he can get some of his energy out.
As far as feeding goes... I haven't looked for any specific dog food at the market, but if they have any, that ought to be just fine. If they don't, just plain old red meat or fowl. And a bowl of water, either way.
I imagine Koromaru's the kind of dog that will just let you know when he needs to go outside, so that'll be easy enough.
no subject
[He is going to die by cat. Jun just knows it]
All of that sounds...easy enough. Just do things to get his energy out, let him out when he needs it, pet him, and feed him meat and water.
Anything else?
no subject
[What's sad is that he's not kidding. But anyway...]
I think that covers all of the basics. Everything else you have to kind of learn by feel, since every dog is different.
Just so long as you're good to him, he'll be good to you, though. I'm sure of that.
no subject
Haha, alright then...
[Yeah, he can tell Rean is not kidding. Well. Whatever floats your boat man! Even if it's being murdered by a cat. Live (or die) your truth!]
Alright, well...thank you for the tips. Minako was always nice to me, so I'd like to repay the favor by looking after Koromaru.

[Rean reaches over to give Koromaru a quick scritch between the ears.]
She was always kind to me, as well. Really reminded me of one of my students. I hope... wherever she's gone back to, that she's doing well.
[What he doesn't know won't kill him.]
no subject
Koro will glance over at Rean and wag his tail. Yes. Give him pets.]
Yeah, me too. She was one of the few here that had the same hobbies I do. I'm going to miss that.
[One less person to talk extensively about anime with. Alas :C]
