MAY MINGLE

May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?
State of the World
On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.

Anastasia doesn't pay any mind to Ledah at first, but she whips her head towards him at his words - brows furrowing deeply.]
I'm usually all for that, but we don't know what'll happen if we destroy it.
[Like there's that one dragon corpse somewhere... Plus there's no guarantee that destroying it won't throw the cold out further, or something like that. For once Anastasia's destructive tendencies are tempered, most just due to how upset she is about all this.]

[ ...
Ledah will put away his Diviner, however, seeming to acquiesce to her point. He won't be too bullheaded about this, because she was correct, and logically he should learn more before taking action. ]
But I suppose you're correct. Until we find out if there are any adverse effects, any attempts to bring it down should wait.

[But she's pleasantly surprised that he listened. Nodding in response as she sighs, arms still folded over her chest as she lets herself relax a bit.]
There is one thing I'm worried about. [She had peered in on it, but she never actually went in since it just screamed "corrupted"...]
There's like... a beating heart, down the mountain. I'm not sure if unfreezing that would be a good idea.
no subject
[What is this Ana? SOMEONE ELSE IS AGREEING]
The mountain is full of a corruption curse. Defrosting the mountain might unleash it...and then we'd be in a lot of trouble.
no subject
See, so we should investigate some more first!
[NOW THAT SHE HAS ELLIOT TO BACK HER UP -]
But a corruption curse? Hmm, it did look corrupted...
no subject
Yeah. Remember how Duvalin was infected with a curse that drove him to lash out on Mondstadt?
That curse came from the dragon whose remains lie on this mountain. It's too cold to spread easily here, but anyone that does get infected would likely face a similar fate.

[Which means. She should
eatabsorb some of it, in order to get a better understanding whenever she gets her usual powers back. If they haven't dealt with it by then, of course.]no subject
[Alas, Elliot has no idea what terrible ideas he's giving Ana because he's a sane person who doesn't think anyone's first response to a corruption curse is to EAT IT]

Maybe there might be clues in the city... That, or we can ask Mr. Time.
no subject
...Forneus is probably our best bet. The city seems like it's from a time before Durin, so I don't see why there'd be any clues about the curse there.

There's a strange emotion welling up inside of him. He's seen bodies before, so that in of itself wasn't the problem.
But there had been different reasons for that, and they were expected, as well as the problem or issue able to be something that could be immediately confronted or dealt with. But this...was a different beast. Though he had once told Ein he was jealous of him, he was beginning to become reacquainted with why emotions could be a hindrance.
So for a moment he stared silently at the bodies, letting the two talk it out. Ledah was a soldier, he solved things with stabbing and killing, so them thinking up a resolution was fine to him, especially since it gave him time to think things over.
Then, he turned to them both, gaze mostly neutral with a hint of frigid along the edges. ]
We cover the bodies in the meanwhile, then. If something is able to counteract the corruption, we can deal with this further, as you have both suggested by having a talk with Forneus and then going from there. I didn't bring anything to cover the bodies with, however.
...There could be something back at camp, so unless either of you two have something, let's go. There's no point in dithering around in the cold uselessly, and I expect neither of you two to do any such thing.
[ With that said rather nicely, Ledah turned his back to the two, and began to walk back. They could continue chatting as they moved away from here; he could only imagine the cold would bother the two more than him, and though he could feel it himself, he wouldn't so much as give a shiver. ]

Mostly because she conjures a small ball of flame into being, the shape of it almost rose-like as it floats amongst the trio. Shivering or not, she doesn't want to see anyone freeze today.]
Hopefully there's some fabric or something we can use. Though the issue is if we would have enough...
[She hopes they do. Though she doesn't offer to go ask Forneus about said attempts to purify... Mostly thanks to how her last chat with him started with her punching him.]

Feeling no need to linger in a place where he'd freeze to death himself (he is pure human after all), he follows along with these two, close to the fire so he can feel it's warmth]
Yeah ... if there isn't, maybe we can get some on the next supply run to Mondstadt?
no subject
Yes, we could in the event that there's not enough available. Though, I understand if neither of you two would desire to venture back into the cold, and so I would be perfectly capable of handling such a task myself.
[ Ledah believed that he's not doing this because it was out of concern for their wellbeing, but because it'd just be logical for him to take care of it due to him bringing it up in the first place. But anyway, they'd have to see what was available at camp first. ]
no subject
[He looks over at Ledah, rubbing his head. Ah, one of those types it seems.]
Hey, c'mon now. There's no need to go into a place like this alone. It's dangerous. I don't like the cold, but I'll help you out. We're all working together, after all.
[The power of teamwork!!! But also yeah, he rather this guy not join all these priests in their frozen tomb because he decided to try this all alone]
