MAY MINGLE

May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?
State of the World
On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.
For all questions regarding May's mingle and events, please head over to our OOC post.
YES
Everyone's trying to get to the top of the mountain. There's a lost city there, though it's not in good shape. You could go along with them, but it's very cold. I wouldn't fault you if you wanted to stay at Second Camp.
[ Yes, there's a fridge, and a TV. They look hilariously out of place in Ye Olde Fantasy Land. ]

walking around slowly, jinx takes the office in- the technology distracted her, she'll admit. the white void sure is a thing. kinda makes her wanna take paint to something. )
That would probably defeat the purpose of even coming here to begin with. ( translation: she might be bitchin but she ain't no weak bitch. ) What's so special about the mountain or the city?
( ... if she can come in and make the time god watch competitive cooking shows with her, that'd be the funniest thing and she's really, really tempted. )

There used to be a city on the mountain. But then it was lost to history. You'll be rediscovering it.
[ And as for how she reacts to finding Vindagnyr... it'll be a test of her fortitude. ]

That sounds pleasant. ( no it doesn't. ) Good things don't happen to lost cities. But I'm guessing you already know that.
( if she knows anything from stories, discovering what happened to it will also play it's part, and she doesn't suspect easy answers right away. ... but things like lost cities on frozen mountains aren't happy stories, in games, in movies, in books and fairy tales. there's no reason at all to suspect anything like that here as well.
she's gonna need some chocolate. but she's determined to soldier on otherwise. )
... So like, why's everything in here more like my technology level?

Because this is my house. Kind of? I copied these items from other worlds. They're pretty useful.

( she's absolutely eyeing the fridge. does she feel like being a good kid and asking for snacks? or being a gremlin.............
... wait. no. this is still a god. probably should play it safe. )
So what all d'you have in the kitchen? And what do you even do in here?

[ It's definitely better than frozen rations, that's for sure. ]
I work here, though 'here' is a bit nebulous when it comes to a God of Time, like me. My main job is to make sure time flows properly and all that jazz.

( because she will steal a god's entire stock of strawberries. but like... in a polite, good kid way.
still, that is kind of interesting... if he makes sure things flow properly, are they anomalies? or was this supposed to happen? jinx only hums in acknowledgement of what he says, though, still slowly wandering around and inspecting things like a cat might. )

[ Jinx will be able to see that the interior of his office is very modern. Everything is neatly arranged; an artificial copy of a living room instead of one that's actually lived in.
He walks over to the wall fridge and pulls out a generic-looking box of chilled strawberries. ]
Here you go.
THE CHILD HAS BEEN GIVEN SNACC.....
Thanks! ... You're not getting anything back, though.

Eh, that's fine. Consider it kinda like payment for you being here, anyway.
[ He tries to treat everyone nicely, considering that he asked them to come here. ]
