May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

People once lived there. The broken buildings host damaged furniture and weathered streets. There are various cloth-covered mounds in a house here and there, accompanied by a sprig of blue flowers. Someone has laid these people to rest after they passed away.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The highest point in the city is occupied by a temple built into a Domain. Within the Domain is a pale white tree, split in half by a strange object that has fallen through the Domain's ceiling. This temple was once a site for worship for Vindagnyr's people, and even in death they continue to pray for salvation. The priests have been frozen in ice, and the sheer cold emanating from the Skyfrost Nail makes it obvious that it is the cause of winter.

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?

State of the World

On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.

Beaches aren't always sunny... the last place I was in was an island, and I had to shovel snow every day.

[Mostly for ice cream.

Oh yikes. 0/10 beach. But mine was, for the most part.

There's other explorers, and this cold is weird in general- I'd be surprised if there wasn't, actually.

[Ugh if only his warm gear came with him from South Sister. Roxas wouldn't complain at all then.]

Huh? [Wait. Can't say magic. It was this vision thing now.] I got something called cryo. Ice. Which... this is the worst place for that kind of power.

( ice powers... on the deathtrap ice mountain. super! )

Maybe next... wherever we end up. I got Electro? Not unlike my magic back home, honestly. ( because she doesn't give a fuck, apparently. ) I've never had it be an outside source though.

I can use all sorts of magic back home, so being limited to one is really weird... and kinda annoying.

( she's only been able to use her hexes all her life- so she gets the frustration, but god does she wish she could do more in general. )

Just means you have to put your all into it. Get creative.

I'm not Elsa... [DON'T ASK] All I know what to do with ice is make spikes.

Hm.... Not sure how I feel about fighting things so soon when I barely understand how this thing works, but eh. Sink or swim, right?

Uh... There's a rack with a few weapons... But the swords on here are not like what I used before.

Then we definitely shouldn't just go out like nothing then- we're both unfamiliar with what we've got.

No one's going to hold it against us if we decide to just take the time to acclimate.

[He'd feel better having both of his hands occupied by a weapon. The claymore looks too unwieldy to appeal to him.]

Yeah, but we're here to help. We can't just take all day.

If you're used to dual-wielding, then I'd say stick with that. Can't have you getting killed because you aren't familiar with what you're using. And I didn't say all day- just... we can't just rush up the mountain with some new weapons and spells we aren't used to. Not to mention the Visions.

[Time to carefully assess the swords and pick ones that have some decent balance to them. Balance was important. At least he looks like he knows what he's doing as he tries some basic movements with them, putting back the ones he didn't think would work.]

We could always practice hitting some rocks or trees.
