May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

People once lived there. The broken buildings host damaged furniture and weathered streets. There are various cloth-covered mounds in a house here and there, accompanied by a sprig of blue flowers. Someone has laid these people to rest after they passed away.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The highest point in the city is occupied by a temple built into a Domain. Within the Domain is a pale white tree, split in half by a strange object that has fallen through the Domain's ceiling. This temple was once a site for worship for Vindagnyr's people, and even in death they continue to pray for salvation. The priests have been frozen in ice, and the sheer cold emanating from the Skyfrost Nail makes it obvious that it is the cause of winter.

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?

State of the World

On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.

[ As always, Forneus seems to be looking at one of his screens with the illegible text when someone walks in. He turns to offer Ochako a smile, though ]

I suppose you could say that. I redecorated a little so it doesn't look as awkward.

[ But most people come here for a reason other than small talk. ]

Did you need me for anything?

Mm, not really. I kind of just wanted to talk?

[ shrugs! ]

It makes sense to want to get to know the people you'll be working with, right? Especially if everything they said in that meeting was true.

That's nice of you. Most people come here only to ask me questions.

[ He gestures to the sofa if she wants to sit down. ]

What do you wanna talk about?

Well, there's plenty that I could ask? But if we manage free the people of this world like you want, then you'll... [ she makes a face. ] ...die? That's like a sort of death for gods, right?

[ how does that work ]

I just figure that if that's going to happen, we should get to know you while you're still here, you know? Especially since it'll kind of make you a hero, if t works.

A hero, huh...

[ Forneus sounds thoughtful. ]

I've never thought of that. I accepted that I'll just disappear. Most of the people of this world don't really know about me.

That just gives us an even better reason to get to know you, doesn't it? If they don't know about you, but we do, then we'll be the only ones who can remember you when it's over. And all heroes deserve to be remembered.

[ Forneus... sighs? He's still smiling, but he looks wistful. ]

You're really nice, you know that? What do you want to know about me?

It's not about being nice, it's appreciating the work someone's doing to make the world around them better.

Were you always the god of time? Did you ever do anything else?

Well... I used to be a traveler. I can pass between worlds, so I went to many different places to see how people lived. Then, I was approached by the gods here to act as their overseer of time, and I decided to help out.

How does it work? What kinds of places have you seen? What was your favorite place to visit? What was it like?

[ Forneus chuckles. It seems he's not bothered by the questions. ]

It's an ability innate to my race, so it's hard to explain how it works. As for favourite place... it's hard to say. Each world has its charms. I like places where people live peacefully, I think.
