MAY MINGLE

May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?
State of the World
On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.
For all questions regarding May's mingle and events, please head over to our OOC post.

(Covering his mouth with his hand and watching Forneus for a moment to see if he can read anything from him. Frustration? Amusement? Neutrality?)
Not when you've gone through lengths to make sure our spirits can live.
... But you've convinced us before so surely you can do it again, right?
(It looks like even a frozen mountain full of corpses isn't enoug to exactly stir Tsurumaru to the Time God's side, oops.)

It's hard to read Forneus. Whatever emotions he shows are pure and genuine, yet without the subtle tones of a human. ]
The reward I offered for your service was the removal of the Revisionists from the time stream of your world, as well as those that you call the 'Time Police'. Because only a god of Time can accomplish such a thing.

(Head tilt, curious.)
Ah, but who knows how much longer we would be fighting...
(Leaning back in his seat now, stretching and looking up at the ceiling. Ceiling? IS there a ceiling???)
no subject
[ There is a ceiling! It's a very normal modern ceiling. The only weird thing about his office seems to be what's outside the windows. ]
no subject
He's not answering that because sometimes you're just a restless spirit that denies yourself and others peace.)

Regardless... if that does not pique your interest, I am capable of quite a few other things. We can discuss.

Where are we now in time? How far in this world's past are we?
no subject
Not very far. Though, there's no 'going back to the future' like how you would with your missions. For all intents and purposes, you're in the present. There's no future set in stone.
no subject
Except for the futures Celestia has predetermined for everyone...
(Tapping at the handle of his sword. He takes his time thinking,)
There's no returning to the present so we'll always be behind... Not quite in the past but not quite in the present either. (Because this past is their current present. It's easy enough for him to follow along.) The future isn't set but there's still a history that needs to happen.
... How it happens isn't important, as long as it happens. History is forgotten all the time, the details lost; as long as the end is the same, the steps can be different.
(Hello, chaos time traveling grandpa. His interpretation has always been more flexible than some others,)

[ Forneus puts his hands on his hips, a confident posture. ]
Or rather, it hasn't happened yet. There's a charted course, but it has yet to come to pass. For this world, the only repercussions are dictated by the gods.
no subject
... We'll see.
(He stretches, kicking out his legs and getting back up onto his feet,)
As long as we're here, we can only go with the flow of time. (He's taking a more passive approach to everything here,) There's no need to worry about Kara... but do be careful.
no subject
[ Kara would just dunk him into the trash lbr ]
Be careful about what in particular?
no subject
It's a surprise.
