MAY MINGLE

May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?
State of the World
On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.

Base Camp
I would advise keeping yourself well fed. Temperatures like these burn more energy than more temperate areas do.
Re: Base Camp
wait fuck he's got actual advice. )
Is it that obvious that I'm from someplace warmer?
( yes. )

Yes. Most here are.

I heard that we- everyone brought here- normally doesn't start out at this place, so. Figures...
I'm still learning my way around places.

I haven't been here much longer than you have, but my home is- was in a remote highland area, so I can offer advice on how to make your stay less unpleasant.
no subject
It's appreciated. I'm from a coastal city. All of this is way outside of my experience... But it's better to learn now than through 'sink or swim' methods, yeah?
( despite it being a question, it's also... not. jinx is confident and determined by nature, the idea of floundering helplessly is unacceptable. and if she wants to be better than she is- which she always does, given that she's a tiny little perfectionist- then it's time to crack down. simple as that. )
no subject
Agreed. Some things can only be learned with experience, but 'sink or swim' with no prior knowledge will more likely than not result in a drowning.
[Way to make the turn of phrase into a grim metaphor, Sooga.]

jinx follows along, though she makes a point in observing the camp around them as they pass. she's not sure when her nerves will ease enough for her to reach out more to others, but there's no way in hell she's saying anything about that. )
Eeeexactly. Sink or swim is kind of a bullshit method anyways. Can't trust whoever threw you in will be able to save you if you do sink.

And even if they do, you're more likely to come out of it fearing the water rather than gaining a healthy respect for it, which does more damage both to your survival chances and your relationship. Outside of very select circumstances, it's a sign of a bad teacher.
[He pauses a moment.]
...Do you like tea?
no subject
( man, she wishes she'd realized that sooner- could have prevented so much heartache and pain. but at the question, jinx perks up almost immediately. she's less the wary witch and more like a curious child who's trying not to show she's too interested... and failing miserably, unaware of it. )
I do, yeah. I always like trying new types, too...
( because she doubts her more customized favorites even exist here. )
