MAY MINGLE

May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.

Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

People once lived there. The broken buildings host damaged furniture and weathered streets. There are various cloth-covered mounds in a house here and there, accompanied by a sprig of blue flowers. Someone has laid these people to rest after they passed away.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The highest point in the city is occupied by a temple built into a Domain. Within the Domain is a pale white tree, split in half by a strange object that has fallen through the Domain's ceiling. This temple was once a site for worship for Vindagnyr's people, and even in death they continue to pray for salvation. The priests have been frozen in ice, and the sheer cold emanating from the Skyfrost Nail makes it obvious that it is the cause of winter.

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?

State of the World

On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.

Incredibly stupid. Like, super incredibly.

[It was a dumb move, but she wanted to try. The only thing she's upset about is that she got others involved.

But she is grateful for the healing, a soft sigh escaping her as the pain starts to fade away.]

I'm corrupted again, so I thought it might just... I dunno, give me indigestion. I didn't think I would get possessed like that. But I fucked up.

Well, at least it appears you’ve learned your lesson.

[Rose has met far too many people who narrowly escaped certain death, only to fling themselves back into danger at the first opportunity. If nothing else, Anastasia doesn’t seem keen on repeating her mistake.]

Corruption is incredibly dangerous, although I’m sure I don’t need to remind you of that.

[And Rose speaks from experience! The kind of experience she’d never wish on another human being. She sends another gust of healing wind Anastasia’s way.]

It seems the worst of it has already gone away.

[She doesn't intend to repeat it with the corruption... Everything else, on the other hand -

But for now she just wants to rest and recover, since she won't be much help if she's too injured to even do anything. So she keeps still so that Rose can heal her, another soft escaping her.]

Don't worry, I got a real good taste of that firsthand.

[Nothing like being possessed by a dead, corrupted dragon to tell you that what you did was dumb as hell. But Anastasia is much more relaxed once the worst of her wounds are healed, flexing a hand for a moment before sitting up straight.]

Thank you... I'll pay you back for this.
