MAY MINGLE

May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?
State of the World
On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.

echoes of the distant past
His complaints are always in good spirit, more to laugh at himself or to lighten the mood when appropriate. He's no stranger to hardship and can certainly endure if he has to. But after reaching the city and seeing everything for himself, his complaints die down significantly. Being cold doesn't really compare when, well... at least he's alive you know?
It's obvious that others aren't taking what they saw very well and while the necropolis brings back memories of a different kind for him, he's always been able to compartmentalize and put his more personal emotions to the side. He is, after all, a leader, and he has to be reliable.
He circles around towards the edge of the camp, looking for those who want time alone and trying to find those who might be better off with company instead. When he finds Shirou, he tries his luck, )
Anemo. (The wind magic?) It doesn't make you colder?
(He'd imagine the wind would make the air feel cooler and when it's already cold...
Anyway, he's also carrying a thermos in his gloved hands. Nice, warm, filled with a tea that has been left to brew entirely too long by whoever was in charge while they were out.)

But if I don’t practice I won’t get better at using this. [By now he can shape the wind a bit. It settles around his hand and up to his elbow as an inhuman hand and arm, the claws catching the light from the camp behind them.
He flexes the fingers and looks up.]
Checking on people?

Maybe we can practice together sometime, then. It'll be a good way to learn about our own visions and each other's, too.
(He says... without offering any clue about what his Vision is, oops.)
Yeah. It's been a rough day for everyone.

It has. This isn’t a place for people anymore. [Its a grave. He shakes his head and whatever his thoughts on that he lets the wind dissipate.]
Anyway, any time you want to practice together let me know. I don’t yet fully understand how the elements interact with each other.
[He pauses adding,] I know Anemo can spread the cold and heat. I know nothing about electro. I assume it’s like lightning just controllable?
no subject
(But he nods,)
More or less. It's not always that impressive, though. I'd say it's 40% controlling lightning... most of the time, it's shocking myself on doors.
(THE ELECTRO STRUGGLE.)

And Anemo is mostly a pretty breeze. Or a wind wall about 30% of the time.
[Shirou lifts his hand tipped with claws up. He flexes the fingers as if they are his claws. But he can’t feel their shifting. He drops his hand and steps a little closer. He considers it then just shifts into his real form. The wind expands over his arm the fades away.]
Cold weather is harder on you humans. You can stick close to me from time to time. It should help a bit. [Fur and all that.]
