MAY MINGLE

May Mingle: Entombed City
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Everyone's hard work resulted in the gate to upper Dragonspine opening. These ruins have not been traversed in years, if not centuries - everything within has been lost to time and living memory. An entire city has been buried in the snow.

Traces of technology can be found in the city - golden boxes that contain crystals capable of recording and playing back holograms. One of the boxes introduces this place as Vindagnyr; a land once full of greenery and life. Just what happened to these people? What caused the eternal winter?

The city's inhabitants worshipped Celestia. Why then were they left to die?
State of the World
On October 1st, the entombed city of Vindagnyr becomes open for exploration. Travelers can choose to look for clues or try to scavenge the city for ancient materials or tools. Recording boxes all around the city tell stories of Vindagnyr's greener past, and of the days when winter suddenly arrived. This is the cruelty of Celestia that Forneus wished you to see.
For all questions regarding May's mingle and events, please head over to our OOC post.

There really is all sorts... But you're right about that. My friends and I recently found out about this old, observing alien race which is also the origin of my friends weapon. All big sci-fi stuff, but it's really happening.

[ Pause. ]
They kind of keep away from me though. Figures they might not want me to pierce their secrets.

[Which makes sense for a race that observes everything. Though her words trail off as she frowns, humming under her breath for a moment.]
Though one of them we met, I think they had a few screws loose. They didn't mind telling us... Well, a lot of things. I don't trust them.

[ For every being that lives, there's bound to be someone above them. It goes up like a never ending chain of world-bearing elephants. ]

If it's any help, I don't really trust you at all. I just find you interesting.
[She means it in a... nice way???]
It's not everyday I can talk to a time god about what he was doing before and also dare him to knit snuggies.

[Pause.]
Though when you took this role, did you know Celestia was... like this?

[To say it nicely. But thinking about gods and Celestia...]
Though I have a thought... Zhongli seems to be trying to live as a mortal now. Have you ever tried anything like that?

But aren't there any others, like you? I mean from the same... whatever it is, from before time?

[But he said before he was too busy to be lonely, so...]
Do all of your kind travel through worlds, then?

[ Waves a hand ]
Anyways, you'll probably never meet another of us other than me. So don't worry too much about it.

... And you wouldn't want to go back to your world, when all is said and done here?

[ :D ]

Oh. Man.]
It... How?

Shit happens. And there's nothing anyone can do about it. It doesn't matter.

[Siiiiiighs]
But... Sorry. For bringing it up.

Let's talk about something else. Anything else you want to ask me?
no subject
Actuuually... Since time isn't really a constraint for you, are you able to jump between the past or the future?

Hmm, so.... [Draws out that "so" for a few seconds.]
Soooo, you wouldn't be able to like... go to a certain point in time, since you're already there? In a way?

[ LOOK ITS HARD TO RATIONALIZE IT TO PEOPLE WHO DONT LIVE FOUR-DIMENSIONALLY ]
It's very complex and I don't really know how to convey it in a manner that's digestible to people who live in three dimensions. Sorry.

Nah, it's fine... I kinda get it? I don't know a lot about science-y things, but I think I get it.
[Maybe.]
I guess it's more like... Harder for me to understand how you perceive things? But I get trying to explain that would be like me trying to explain how I can do certain things humans can't.
[It's hard to put into words if the other never, and could never, experience something like that themselves.]
