January Mingle: A Ballad in Goblets
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
You open your eyes to an unfamiliar sight. A cool breeze flits through rustic buildings and sunny streets, carrying the smell of flowers and wine. The very air itself seems charged with mana, the warm pulse of the land palpable beneath your feet. This is a new world, a world where the elements compose all of reality. Before you is a bubbling fountain, and a key is entwined between your fingers. And that weight on your hip? A sparkling bauble that you've never seen before, yet it feels natural, as if it had always been there.
Asking around nets you the name of this world - Teyvat - and the name of this city - Mondstadt, blessed by the Anemo Archon, Barbatos. Your new home is accessible with the key placed in your hands, though this also brings to mind another question. How will you get money? Food isn't free, after all.Luckily for you, there's plenty of jobs available for the enterprising Traveler. Be it taking requests from the Adventurers' Guild, or working part-time at one of Mondstadt's many food establishments, Mora is to be had when hard work is involved. The cuisine of Mondstadt is best paired with its wine, served at bars or enjoyed in private with a few friends.
And about that shining gem. locals will tell you that it is a Vision, a sign of favour from Teyvat's elemental gods. With the Vision on hand, you find yourself capable of commanding one of the seven elements. What will you do with this newfound blessing? Use it for good... or for evil?
Mondstadt's liveliness doesn't diminish when night falls. Bards sing through the wee hours of the night, and the lights of the city help keep most evildoers at bay. All seems peaceful, a pastoral idyll of a life that seems more at home in a storybook. Yet for those Travelers who venture out beyond the city's walls and into the ruins dotting the landscape, they may discover hints of a bloodier past now forgotten.Glancing at any of the calendars in the city will tell you the current date. August 10th was the day you arrived. As soon as the last minute of August 16th slips away, the world around you changes. A blink, and time itself rewinds by seven days. Looking outside, the mown lawns have regrown, the windmill needs fixing again, and the well is once again full. Just what is happening here? It seems only you, Traveler, remembers the week that never was.
State of the World
For the first two weeks of the game, IC time will be looping from August 10th to August 16th. It's currently late summer in Mondstadt, and the trees are just beginning to turn out their autumn colours. The weather is cool and pleasant, with light showers on Tuesday (11th) and Friday (14th). It's also a good time to go out gathering berries and nature's bounty from Mondstadt's forests and valleys.
These two weeks will let us trial out our commissions and regains system and craft improvements for February onwards. There will be no activity requirements for January, so all threads started during this time period can be used for regains!

But she has (shockingly) matured a little in the past six months of her life, and instead of puffing up and picking a fight right here and now, she instead does her best to quell her temper, returning her attention to Mr. Pretty Boy.
Congrats Seonho, finally everyone is paying attention to you. ]

Seonho pushes most of his hair back so he can look down more clearly, then he moves the dirt off what he's hoping is this ~mysterious blue ore~ that Wagner wants to find so badly,
he places his hand around the object and yanks it out to reveal -- this. nya.]

Lucas makes a disgruntled noise at the appearance of something completely useless. Who's burying ceramic cat trinkets in this place?? Lucas wants them STRANGLED.
He opts to roll his eyes, like an adult, before turning to start kicking at some nearby smaller rocks in order to move them out of the way.
They should've brought a shovel. ]

Anyway, that's a pretty cute cat figuring that Seonho's holding out there, and she takes it with an easy smile before pocketing it away....somewhere on her battle armor. It Is A Mystery (ghost emoji). ]
Yeah, they're pretty cute! We have a couple of them that wander around the Grandcypher sometimes.
[ Just a flying airship filled with people, cats, dogs, horses, and the occasional dragon. No big.
She doesn't miss the way Lucas rolls his eyes though and starts kicking away at the dirt, and she smirks little before hunkering down and getting back to work. ]
But I think His Majesty over there is gonna pop his gasket if we don't get back to work and find those ores soon.

Seonho smiles at that, but he's smart enough not to follow that up with another comment. sometimes, u just want to survive the ten year old with electro powers,]
A fine suggestion. We should focus on finding white ores as well. Those are more common, and Wagner will accept them just as well as he would a blue ore.
[thankfully, it looks like there's a whole bunch of white iron chunks scattered around the field where Lucas and Zeta blew everything UP. they can fill their basket with those!!! (seonho is designated pack mule for this quest)]

He scowls when he overhears the other two's conversation, one eye twitch in irritation as he shoots Zeta a Look. Sue him for wanting to successfully complete this stupid commission and then go on their merry, very much separate, way!
At least Seonho manages some semblance of peace with the white ore comment... There are plenty of those only a few feet from where Lucas is standing, and he turns to collect some of those.
And in the process, uncovers something blue. No, it's not a dumb ceramic cat this time. It's an actual ore! ]

[ It's small... Not very impressive looking... But it's there. ]

[ Zeta's quick to turn away from her own patch of dirt, eyes wide as she peers at the glint of blue still half buried in brown earth. She has no idea what any of these ores are supposed to look like, but that chunk of mineral looks close enough to her. ]
That's pretty small...are you sure that'll be enough?
[ They do have an excess of white ores now, but still. Though, her worries go unfounded as her eyes catch another sparkle of blue a foot away from the first. She points at it, voice growing in excitement. ]
