February Mingle: The Outlander Who Caught The Wind
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Life in Mondstadt seems to never change. Each day unfolds similarly to the next, and the clock turns back every seven days. Just what is happening here? Is there ever any hope for the Travelers to find a way home? Slowly, the questions that have been burning in everyone's minds will be answered The fate of all that lives in Teyvat is written in the stars - only you, Traveler, are free from the shackles of destiny.

As Travelers wake up to August 13th for the third time, nothing seems to have changed. However, a windstorm blankets all of Mondstadt in the afternoon, whipped up by the wings of a large dragon. As civilians scatter and the Knights attempt to restore order, a voice calls out to you from the darkened sky.

"Come fly with me. The winds of freedom will clear away the storm."

An updraft carries you and your Wind Glider into the air, where you can take aim at the dragon without hindrance. However, your attacks seem to focus on the purple spikes that torment the dragon's body. From whence did they come?

At the behest of the Acting Grand Master, you venture out into Mondstadt's wilds to stem the flow of power fueling Stormterror's rampage. Perhaps you may come to know of Stormterror's past - once a protector of the city, now turning his back on the nation he once loved. What broke the dragon's heart? Could he have truly turned dark once and for all?

Whatever path you choose to walk, it soon becomes evident that your actions do have an impact on the world. August 17th arrives gracefully, and the people of Mondstadt turn their attention to the arduous task of reconstruction. Helping to patch up the city's beautiful neighbourhoods piece by piece will earn you the citizens favour and a good amount of Mora.

When the dust settles, peace returns to Mondstadt... for the most part. The howling of wolves can be heard in the depths of the night - a territorial dispute in the dark forests of Wolvendom has spilled over into neighbouring Springvale. The order in Wolvendom is kept by the will of Lupus Boreas - all wolves who reside in Mondstadt must obey Andriu's code. The foreign pack heed not his words, hunting above their share and attacking human hunters.

Yet all wolves look the same to outsiders unfamiliar with their code, and the residents of Springvale are all too willing to blame all of wolfkind. Who will listen to the voice of the wolves? Will blood be spilled on these untamed lands once more? Only time will tell.

State of the World

For the first week of February, IC time will continue the time loop from January: that is, looping once more from August 10th to August 16th. ICly, the tasks in our main quest will be completed by characters before Sunday ends. Once Monday rolls around once more, they’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that the date has advanced to August 17th. The second to fourth weeks of February will be spent looping from August 17th to August 23rd, and characters will have plenty of new things to do in the new time period.

(There's a familiar face checking out the commissions and Tsurumaru makes his way over. Quietly, he steps behind Kashuu and leans in casually.)

My, my... this is a surprise.

(Did he have to whisper that in Kashuu's ear? Yes. He sure did.)

[ BE STILL HIS HEART. Literally. Please slow down. Kashuu puts a (perfectly manicured) hand to his chest, but at least now that the startled moment is done he realizes just who...did that. It's the same culprit for literally every other surprise he's experienced since Tsurumaru came to the Citadel (save, like, 2%). Why did he expect anything else. ]

- Why!!

[ That's the only question he has. It's more about Tsurumaru than like, the situation, but Tsurumaru can feel free to explain the situation instead of his everything if he likes. ]

(And guess who's just standing there, hands on his hips, and looking absolutely pleased with himself? Tsurumaru!)

Haha! Did I surprise you? Good! (Excellent.) I was only returning the favor.

(And cranes always return their favors! )

How long have you been here, Kashuu Kiyomitsu? Did master send you?

(Is this a rescue mission!? He looks around. In fact, he makes a point of looking around, raising a hand to his brow and searching around...)

... I don't see anyone else.

(And granted, his scouting has never been the best because he has old man vision but... hm.)

That's because there's no one else. Master didn't plan this! Neither did I. I was taking pictures with everyone and theeeeeeen.

[ He gestures around.

He has no idea what follows "and then" still. ]

How long have you been here? Were you sent here? [ Or is their equipment just massively malfunctioning? Were they somehow double-summoned? Can that happen? ]

(Tsurumaru smiles quietly at Kashuu,)

I see. (So this isn't a rescue or anything like that. It's another to add to their numbers.) Ookurikara and I have been here for a couple of weeks. We were on our way home from an assignment when we arrived.

[nailpolished]

I don't remember you two being sent out on assignment. [ He isn't saying they weren't, mind - he's just letting Tsurumaru know he didn't remember that being a thing. Of course, it's not like he ALWAYS knows who is being sent away at every second, but they're usually mostly up to date on who is out in the field. ] You were both at the Citdael last I checked...

[ So, huh, weird time shit. That's probably not that surprising, and Kashuu huffs a sigh. ]

Well, whatever! Is there anything I need to know?

[cranelike]

You don't?

(Tilting his head. He hadn't known Ookurikara was out on an assignment either but he only assumed it had happened while he was out on his own. If Kashuu had remained at the citadel the entire time though... Hm.)

Well, it isn't important.

(It is! But he won't dwell on it!! It's something to think about later.)

It looks like we were all brought to this world by some sort of force. Apparently, it's something like only the gods could do... but no one seems to know why. (Looking Kashuu up and down.) Did you receive anything when you realized you were here?

(A vision?)

Yeah! An accessory that totally doesn't go with anything I own.

[ HYDRO IS TOO BLUE FOR HIS AESTHETIC!!!!

He's hooked it to his belt under his jacket, so he just pulls that aside enough so Tsuru can be nosy.

...yes, his main concern is that it's not his color. ]

(Ah, that gets a smile from Tsurumaru, quiet and soft. It's true, the color fits his partner, Yamatonokami, much more but a little as Tsurumaru knows about these visions, it's fitting that "the child of the river" would have a hydro vision,)

Ah, you're right. (He's not going to give Kashuu any support here! It doesn't match! It clashes!) It doesn't match at all.

(Tsurumaru's own vision is attached to his waist as well, similar to how he would wear his crest casually. A light blue might not be a part of Tsurumaru's usual color scheme but it's a cool enough shade that it still matches,)

I have one, too. They're rather useful so hold onto it.

Well, I figured. Maybe I can paint it...

[ You can't DESTROY a vision, but surely you can bling it out? ]

As expected from Kashuu Kiyomitsu. (He's not judging! He's actually very endeared that Kashuu is so devoted to his style and aesthetic.) You'll have to show me when you're finished.

(He's encouraging you, Kashuu!!)

But more than that, make sure to practice. You wouldn't want to be caught by an unfortunate surprise.

[ IS TSURUMARU THE UNFORTUNATE SURPRISE - ]

Of course! Have you ever known me not to train? [ He may be fussy about his looks, but a sword isn't worth much if they ONLY look cute. They have to be strong, too! ]

(Tsurumaru is a crane so of course he's always the FORTUNATE surprise!!

Tsurumaru holds out his hand to Kashuu, making a point to show off his fingers. Especially those unpainted nails.)

We wouldn't want you to damage your nails.

I have my supplies, you know! Besides, I'm pretty careful about them anyway.

[ Unless he has to get serious-serious, and then he'll just complain later... ]

Of course.

(He can't help but smile lightly at that. Kashuu Kiyomitsu is the same as usual... maybe that's boring by Tsurumaru's typical standards but this time, there's some comfort in it.)

You were looking at the job offers, aren't you? Did any catch your eye?

Is this you fishing for a compliment? [ Because now that he knows Tsurumaru is HERE...that commission about paper cranes is a lot more suspicious. ]

[ HE IS...but he's like do I want to tell Tsurumaru that and give him the Satisfaction?

Well, you probably won't tell me if I don't...soooooooo, do you have cute paper for me to use?

Nothing like back at home. (So no cute patterns or fancy designs, unfortunately.) I have a few colors, though.

(And he beckons for Kashuu to follow him over to a nearby table or something because I'm assuming there's a sitting area for people to discuss their commissions before heading out. Once they're seated, he'll take out a few colorful sheets of paper from his kimono! Reds, blues, greens, whites... all solid, plain colors.)

[ WHERE'S THE PINK - nah, he'll be a predictable bitch and take the red paper, okay. Gotta stay on color scheme. ]

I guess they don't do origami here, huh? Makes sense.

[ This all feels very European, he means...Mondstadt. ]

I've met a few Travelers who know but no one from this world so far...

(Tsurumaru will take a blue one! Variety is important in life so he can't choose the same color as Kashuu.)

Have you met the other Travelers? There are a few from Japan... but a different time or version from us.

I've met at few people, but we didn't get that in depth...that's annoying, though.

[ In a general way...he doesn't think he cares THAT much. ]

No one expects us to keep track of that, right?

[ ...OKAY, SO HE'S JUST NOT WANTING TO KEEP A MENTAL TIMELINE... ]
