February Mingle: The Outlander Who Caught The Wind
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Life in Mondstadt seems to never change. Each day unfolds similarly to the next, and the clock turns back every seven days. Just what is happening here? Is there ever any hope for the Travelers to find a way home? Slowly, the questions that have been burning in everyone's minds will be answered The fate of all that lives in Teyvat is written in the stars - only you, Traveler, are free from the shackles of destiny.

As Travelers wake up to August 13th for the third time, nothing seems to have changed. However, a windstorm blankets all of Mondstadt in the afternoon, whipped up by the wings of a large dragon. As civilians scatter and the Knights attempt to restore order, a voice calls out to you from the darkened sky.

"Come fly with me. The winds of freedom will clear away the storm."

An updraft carries you and your Wind Glider into the air, where you can take aim at the dragon without hindrance. However, your attacks seem to focus on the purple spikes that torment the dragon's body. From whence did they come?

At the behest of the Acting Grand Master, you venture out into Mondstadt's wilds to stem the flow of power fueling Stormterror's rampage. Perhaps you may come to know of Stormterror's past - once a protector of the city, now turning his back on the nation he once loved. What broke the dragon's heart? Could he have truly turned dark once and for all?

Whatever path you choose to walk, it soon becomes evident that your actions do have an impact on the world. August 17th arrives gracefully, and the people of Mondstadt turn their attention to the arduous task of reconstruction. Helping to patch up the city's beautiful neighbourhoods piece by piece will earn you the citizens favour and a good amount of Mora.

When the dust settles, peace returns to Mondstadt... for the most part. The howling of wolves can be heard in the depths of the night - a territorial dispute in the dark forests of Wolvendom has spilled over into neighbouring Springvale. The order in Wolvendom is kept by the will of Lupus Boreas - all wolves who reside in Mondstadt must obey Andriu's code. The foreign pack heed not his words, hunting above their share and attacking human hunters.

Yet all wolves look the same to outsiders unfamiliar with their code, and the residents of Springvale are all too willing to blame all of wolfkind. Who will listen to the voice of the wolves? Will blood be spilled on these untamed lands once more? Only time will tell.

State of the World

For the first week of February, IC time will continue the time loop from January: that is, looping once more from August 10th to August 16th. ICly, the tasks in our main quest will be completed by characters before Sunday ends. Once Monday rolls around once more, they’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that the date has advanced to August 17th. The second to fourth weeks of February will be spent looping from August 17th to August 23rd, and characters will have plenty of new things to do in the new time period.

[Val was out to go and maybe kill a boar or something-- but his plans are put on hold when he's tugged off of the road.

Since Claude is currently tugging him out of the way, he'll be nice enough not to lecture him.

What's up ahead?]

(Sorry, he just doesn't want you to scare off his game when he's spent all of this time tracking it down.)

Look.

(Up ahead! There's... one wolf? Two? They're sniffing at the air but right now, they're too far away to really make out what color they are. Dark brown? Black? Hm.)

I can't tell if they're the ones we're looking out for or not.

We'll have to get closer if you want to know what kinds of wolves these are.

[Which does run the risk of the wolves running away.]

Right. (No way around it! They'll have to get closer for sure.) We'll have to be careful.

(Which is why he pulled his new friend off the path so suddenly.)

Are you with me?

Are we fighting the black wolves? Then very well, I will accompany you.

[The gray ones don't seem that vicious.]

That's what everyone's told me. (He might not necessarily agree though?) I'd prefer to avoid fighting if we can but from what I've heard, the black ones are prone to attacking.

(He wonders why.)

Can you take care of yourself in a fight?

[If he can avoid killing a wolf, he'd prefer it.]

Of course I can. [He's not a Prinny Instructor for nothing.]

Good.

(And that's all he'll say as he starts to sneak forward towards the wolves. Carefully, because he doesn't want to be heard before he's ready but he knows it's just a matter of time before their better senses catch the two of them.

As they get closer, they can see it is, in fact, 3 black wolves gathered around one, injured grey wolf. The grey wolf snaps and growls desperately.

It's sad, but that's just nature, isn't it? The strong live, the weak die... the pack with the larger numbers will always come out over the solitary predator but he can't help but feel sorry...

He glances at his partner in crime. What's he thinking?)

[If the gray wolf is injured, than even if they startle the black, there's a good chance the gray one won't be able to get away.

Live and let live? Hell no, it's time to get involved.

In a mater of seconds, Val leaves his spot near Claude and runs towards the group of wolves. He'll figure out a plan when he gets there. Maybe they can just run the black ones off. ]

Back off!

... The heroic type, huh.

(He mumbles under his breath as Val runs off. Well, it looks like theyr'e going to have to fight because those black wolves immediately turn their attention over towards Val, showing teeth and letting out dark growls.

The one closest to them will lunge at Val!

And Claude quickly nocks an arrow and fires.)

Watch out!

[There's not much difference between a hero and an idiot, when it comes to things like this.

Val does get his left arm bitten, before he dodges out of the way of Claude's arrow. He draws his sword, but he's at an awkward angle to actually hit the wolf on his arm.]

(TRUE WORDS but it's too soon to tell if Val is an idiot or not--

And then he lets his arm get bitten. Ok. Definitely an impulsive and careless type. Val's angle might be awkward but it's nothing Claude can't help with. He fires a second arrow almost instantly, this one hitting the wolf in the neck. His aim is frighteningly accurate-- he's someone who is definitely skilled with the bow.)

I've got your back, don't worry.

[Or the type who's simply far too used to being injured to think of it as a real problem.

The wolf lets go of Val's arm after that, and he charges forward to slash at the other wolves. It's less to kill them, and more to chase them away.

Or, if they're stubborn, fight him instead of the injured wolf.]

I'm counting on you!

(Being injured is always a problem! There aren't many wolves but the ones they have to deal with are clearly aggressive and on the offensive now. It'll take more than a few strikes to really chase them off. Maybe they can scare them off with their Visions? That seems to be the solution to everything in this place.

One wolf starts to size up Val and Claude lets loose another arrow. This one is electro charged and the sparks that come from it seem to make the wolf jump back from surprise.)

Try using your vision before they get too familiar.

(Surprise them!!)
