FEBRUARY MINGLE

February Mingle: The Outlander Who Caught The Wind
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Life in Mondstadt seems to never change. Each day unfolds similarly to the next, and the clock turns back every seven days. Just what is happening here? Is there ever any hope for the Travelers to find a way home? Slowly, the questions that have been burning in everyone's minds will be answered The fate of all that lives in Teyvat is written in the stars - only you, Traveler, are free from the shackles of destiny.

"Come fly with me. The winds of freedom will clear away the storm."
An updraft carries you and your Wind Glider into the air, where you can take aim at the dragon without hindrance. However, your attacks seem to focus on the purple spikes that torment the dragon's body. From whence did they come?

Whatever path you choose to walk, it soon becomes evident that your actions do have an impact on the world. August 17th arrives gracefully, and the people of Mondstadt turn their attention to the arduous task of reconstruction. Helping to patch up the city's beautiful neighbourhoods piece by piece will earn you the citizens favour and a good amount of Mora.

Yet all wolves look the same to outsiders unfamiliar with their code, and the residents of Springvale are all too willing to blame all of wolfkind. Who will listen to the voice of the wolves? Will blood be spilled on these untamed lands once more? Only time will tell.
State of the World
For the first week of February, IC time will continue the time loop from January: that is, looping once more from August 10th to August 16th. ICly, the tasks in our main quest will be completed by characters before Sunday ends. Once Monday rolls around once more, they’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that the date has advanced to August 17th. The second to fourth weeks of February will be spent looping from August 17th to August 23rd, and characters will have plenty of new things to do in the new time period.
For all questions regarding February's mingle and events, please head over to our OOC post.

Evening... How're you feeling?
[She comes over to stand by the table, though doesn't take a seat herself. Zhongli would've learned that in her visits she never tended to make herself comfortable unless given the okay - less out of manners, and more just out of general unfamiliarity.]
no subject
But it was by his own choice. ]
Please have a seat. Would you like some tea?
[ Basic hospitality is something he can still do. His pride wouldn't let him just sit around when there's a guest. ]
In the hours prior, I made an attempt to break the black seal by force. As you can see, it did not work out the way I wished it to, but I have gained some more insights about it.
no subject
Nah, I'm fine.
[And his words certainly grab her attention, her brows almost rising up to her hairline when he says he attempted to break the seal by force. While she's not surprised it didn't work, the fact he gained something out of it is definitely interesting.]
What kind of insight? Anything really useful?
no subject
[ Zhongli folds his arms, closing his eyes. ]
The black seal is a time seal. It accelerates the passage of time on my body. As a result, most of my power is expended to counter its effects.
no subject
[If his power is being used to counter it, it would explain why he's so tired. Ana is quiet as she thinks for a moment, absently tapping a black-painted nail against the tabletop.]
Then I'm gonna take a hunch it's related to the loops. But why place a seal like that on you...?
[A god shouldn't be affected by the passage of time, right? Or so she assumes, Zhongli hasn't been anything like the gods she knows of.]
no subject
[ Barbatos, who eschewed worship and governance, is the weakest of the Seven. Zhongli may not be as powerful as the Tsaritsa, but his wisdom and ability to call on his element regardless of where he is would lend him a very big advantage in any combat situation. ]
By limiting my ability to interfere, the plans of our mysterious host would be more likely to come to fruition. [ It's something Zhongli would have done were he in that role, too. ]
no subject
[Said as dryly as possible. Sorry Venti but Ana officially thinks You Suck.
But this is making sense them, so if it's limiting the ability to interfere...]
I see... Someone at the meeting talked about a magic cage that turned an Abyss Mage to dust when it tried to steal their Vision. It had the same pattern as your seal, so maybe that's also to prevent interference...
no subject
And it is from a Vision belonging to an outlander - that is, not granted conventionally by the Archons.
[ Zhongli folds his arms. ]
To lose their granted Vision would mean they would lose their ability to enact large changes upon this world. Our host prefers to keep the outlanders effective.
no subject
[Fake Visions given to a bunch of random outsiders, huh? Ana mulls over this, heaving a sigh as she glances at the Vision hanging at her waist.]
Whatever it is, seems like they don't want the local gods involved at all.
no subject
... Do you believe in a predetermined destiny?
[ He sounds thoughtful. Ana would be familiar enough to tell that he's about to go into one of his lectures - this one's important, too. It's the fastest way he can give her hints without breaking some of his own rules. ]
no subject
No, not really. How important is it here?
[Why else would he ask that, if it wasn't relevant? Though she knows she's in for a lecture, but she's also a nerd who doesn't mind them half the time. Especially if they seem to be important.]
no subject
[ Without a Constellation, Celestia could not control these people. Zhongli has begun to understand that this is why they were chosen. Now to wait and see if Ana picks that up, ]
no subject
[Impossible to control, hard to plan ahead for. She mulls over this for a bit longer, tapping her nails against the table before she speaks again, her words slow as she's still thinking over them.]
Which is why they want us to change... the events of things? Which would be why time keeps looping. And since our fate isn't written we can freely do something like that, unlike a native.
no subject
[ Ana is quick on the uptake, which saves Zhongli from explaining - not that he dislikes explaining, of course. It just made it easier to get to the crux of the matter. ]
Your freedom is what our host desires. And what you do with it.
