FEBRUARY MINGLE

February Mingle: The Outlander Who Caught The Wind
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.

Life in Mondstadt seems to never change. Each day unfolds similarly to the next, and the clock turns back every seven days. Just what is happening here? Is there ever any hope for the Travelers to find a way home? Slowly, the questions that have been burning in everyone's minds will be answered The fate of all that lives in Teyvat is written in the stars - only you, Traveler, are free from the shackles of destiny.

As Travelers wake up to August 13th for the third time, nothing seems to have changed. However, a windstorm blankets all of Mondstadt in the afternoon, whipped up by the wings of a large dragon. As civilians scatter and the Knights attempt to restore order, a voice calls out to you from the darkened sky.

"Come fly with me. The winds of freedom will clear away the storm."

An updraft carries you and your Wind Glider into the air, where you can take aim at the dragon without hindrance. However, your attacks seem to focus on the purple spikes that torment the dragon's body. From whence did they come?

At the behest of the Acting Grand Master, you venture out into Mondstadt's wilds to stem the flow of power fueling Stormterror's rampage. Perhaps you may come to know of Stormterror's past - once a protector of the city, now turning his back on the nation he once loved. What broke the dragon's heart? Could he have truly turned dark once and for all?

Whatever path you choose to walk, it soon becomes evident that your actions do have an impact on the world. August 17th arrives gracefully, and the people of Mondstadt turn their attention to the arduous task of reconstruction. Helping to patch up the city's beautiful neighbourhoods piece by piece will earn you the citizens favour and a good amount of Mora.

When the dust settles, peace returns to Mondstadt... for the most part. The howling of wolves can be heard in the depths of the night - a territorial dispute in the dark forests of Wolvendom has spilled over into neighbouring Springvale. The order in Wolvendom is kept by the will of Lupus Boreas - all wolves who reside in Mondstadt must obey Andriu's code. The foreign pack heed not his words, hunting above their share and attacking human hunters.

Yet all wolves look the same to outsiders unfamiliar with their code, and the residents of Springvale are all too willing to blame all of wolfkind. Who will listen to the voice of the wolves? Will blood be spilled on these untamed lands once more? Only time will tell.

State of the World

For the first week of February, IC time will continue the time loop from January: that is, looping once more from August 10th to August 16th. ICly, the tasks in our main quest will be completed by characters before Sunday ends. Once Monday rolls around once more, they’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that the date has advanced to August 17th. The second to fourth weeks of February will be spent looping from August 17th to August 23rd, and characters will have plenty of new things to do in the new time period.

For all questions regarding February's mingle and events, please head over to our OOC post.

Why is it harder on yourself?

[Since that sounds weird. He's no Izuku but it's hard not to be curious about stuff ok. And he nods at that with a little smile] Yeah, try to avoid that.

[But enough fun chatter it seems. He stops when Ochako steps back, he going quiet for a moment and the smile fading. Figures they'd be here.]

Suppose that answers whether they can get past the sealed entrance.

[Holding out his hand, he summons his great sword. It's larger than he is, being at least 2 meters in length, but despite that he holds onto it with one hand with ease. Totally not weird. But he's ready to go when she is.]

I just get nausea really quickly, that’s all. Other people don’t usually feel it.

[ by contrast, ochako has only a short sword, lightweight but sharp. it’s not her specialty, by any means, but she draws it anyway, saying nothing of jun’s weapon as she meets his eyes and nods.

then she’s rounding the corner and tapping into her vision to throw a rock at the nearest one. how’s that for a hello? ]

I see...

[Nausea, that's not pleasant. He makes a mental note of it. Be careful how much he requests to use her quirk then.

But he won't say anything more of it, since there's a battle to focus on. The rock hits one in the head, causing it to stumble while his companions are surprised by the sudden rock. Jun meanwhile will take advantage of the confusion and lunge himself towards the group. He swings his blade at one, causing it to fly back from the sheer force he swings with, and then uses his vision to launch a flying rock at another charging at him. Seems he can handle himself just fine.

Meanwhile a couple hillichurls notice Ochako and go charging at her- hoping that she's a less dangerous target than the guy with a giant sword]

[ well, they wouldn’t be wrong! but even for a non-combat hero, ochako can still give them a run for their mora! sure, her sword isn’t a mile long like jun’s, but it gets the job done!! she’s rushing to get in close, before any of them can draw bows and arrows, and slicing them down.

as she goes, she picks up the rock she’d thrown before with a light tap, and it easily begins to float. swinging her sword like a bat, ochako send it flying at one of the hilichurls who’ve come after her, and releases it just before impact so it slams the hilichurl right in the chest. that gives the other one time to catch up to her, though, so she barely avoids the swing of its club. ]

[Jun will make quick work of the hilichurls he's fighting, finishing them off with no sense of hesitation. He then looks back to see how Ochako is faring with hers. She's doing well, all things considered.

Though he can see how she left herself open to the second one. Quickly he summons another rock and flings it at the hilichurl. As it recovers from its swing that Ochako dodges- it gets knocked by the rock that Jun throw - knocking it off balance and giving Ochako a wide opening]

[ not one to waste an opportunity, ochako gets in close to finish it off. as much as she’d prefer not to fight these guys, they can’t just let them stick around, can they?

and once that’s done, she turns to jun with a grin. ]

We make a pretty good team, huh?

[He was confident she'd be able to finish it off herself, and sure enough she did. When it's over, he lower his sword and returns her smile]

Mm, we do. Though I suspect I shouldn't expect anything less from a UA student.

Heh, that’s right! I’m not as strong as Deku-kun or Bakugou yet, but we’re all supposed to be some of the best!

[ she’s not above bragging about her school or her classmates! ]

I guess finding hilichurls here means we’re going in the right direction, huh?

Haha, pure strength is only one factor anyway.

[There were many different ways someone could be a great asset in situations like this.]

Most likely, yes. Let's keep going.
