February Mingle: The Outlander Who Caught The Wind
Welcome to Teyvat - a vast magical world of adventure.
Life in Mondstadt seems to never change. Each day unfolds similarly to the next, and the clock turns back every seven days. Just what is happening here? Is there ever any hope for the Travelers to find a way home? Slowly, the questions that have been burning in everyone's minds will be answered The fate of all that lives in Teyvat is written in the stars - only you, Traveler, are free from the shackles of destiny.

As Travelers wake up to August 13th for the third time, nothing seems to have changed. However, a windstorm blankets all of Mondstadt in the afternoon, whipped up by the wings of a large dragon. As civilians scatter and the Knights attempt to restore order, a voice calls out to you from the darkened sky.

"Come fly with me. The winds of freedom will clear away the storm."

An updraft carries you and your Wind Glider into the air, where you can take aim at the dragon without hindrance. However, your attacks seem to focus on the purple spikes that torment the dragon's body. From whence did they come?

At the behest of the Acting Grand Master, you venture out into Mondstadt's wilds to stem the flow of power fueling Stormterror's rampage. Perhaps you may come to know of Stormterror's past - once a protector of the city, now turning his back on the nation he once loved. What broke the dragon's heart? Could he have truly turned dark once and for all?

Whatever path you choose to walk, it soon becomes evident that your actions do have an impact on the world. August 17th arrives gracefully, and the people of Mondstadt turn their attention to the arduous task of reconstruction. Helping to patch up the city's beautiful neighbourhoods piece by piece will earn you the citizens favour and a good amount of Mora.

When the dust settles, peace returns to Mondstadt... for the most part. The howling of wolves can be heard in the depths of the night - a territorial dispute in the dark forests of Wolvendom has spilled over into neighbouring Springvale. The order in Wolvendom is kept by the will of Lupus Boreas - all wolves who reside in Mondstadt must obey Andriu's code. The foreign pack heed not his words, hunting above their share and attacking human hunters.

Yet all wolves look the same to outsiders unfamiliar with their code, and the residents of Springvale are all too willing to blame all of wolfkind. Who will listen to the voice of the wolves? Will blood be spilled on these untamed lands once more? Only time will tell.

State of the World

For the first week of February, IC time will continue the time loop from January: that is, looping once more from August 10th to August 16th. ICly, the tasks in our main quest will be completed by characters before Sunday ends. Once Monday rolls around once more, they’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that the date has advanced to August 17th. The second to fourth weeks of February will be spent looping from August 17th to August 23rd, and characters will have plenty of new things to do in the new time period.

[This isn't his first time in a domain in Teyvat, but it's still surreal for Jun to think this world can have stable Eclipse labyrinths. While Ochako is in awe, he's keeping an eye out for any potential dangers.]

Haha, it's not an illusion. Labyrinths like these are shaped by beings with very strong spirit power within a spirit realm. They don't have to follow the same building conventions we do.

[You know like, obeying the laws of gravity]

Last time I saw something like this, it was just a computer simulation turned all glitchy.

[ beings with strong spirit power... huh. ]

But you mean like gods or something, right? I wonder what happened that they'd just abandon something like this, though.

Haha, really? Like VR?

[We don't have fancy holograms in 2015 ok]

Yep, though strong enough spirits and demons can do it too. [He glances around] I'm wondering that too...normally when it's master is gone, the labyrinth will eventually disappear. But this one seems stable.

Mm, I guess you could call it that. It was pretty realistic.

[ look she doesn't know what made it different than regular vr or real life, she's not THAT technologically inclined. all she knows is that it was weird!! ]

Well, if that's the case... maybe it isn't really gone? [ hmmm. time to head further in, then. ] Maybe it's still out there somewhere, just not here. There had to be a good reason it would leave after going to all the effort to make a place like this.

Sounds impressive.

[It's okay, Jun isn't exactly that up on technology either. He spent most of his life in a weird convent.

If she wants to head in deeper, he'll follow. Still keeping his eyes peeled, navigating places like this was his main line of work back home after all.]

Hm, that's possible. With how much magic is in this world, its movement probably isn't restricted. [So it could come and go as it pleased, so why wouldn't it?] We should be careful though. Master or no master, places like these tend to draw lesser fiends.

Maybe it would have been, if things had gone a little better.

[ ...whatever that means ]

Exactly! There's probably something important that drew it away, whether that had something to do with Dvalin or not.

[ what, though, is beyond ochako. ]

You mean monsters, right? I wonder how they would have gotten in. We needed our visions to get the door to open, and they don't even have those...

Ah...

[He does wonder what that means. Did it have something to do with that murderous place she mentioned in the meeting? He's tempted to ask but...now is probably not the time to go over something like that. What with being in a dangerous temple and all]

Mm. Monsters and such have their own ways to get into places, so I wouldn't be surprised if we come across some. Do you know how to fight?

Sure! I’m technically a support and rescue hero, but all heroes need to know how to fight, you know? Even if we aren’t always going to be on the front lines.

...And I’ve been practicing with my sword, too! [ sure enough, it’s hanging at her hip! ] I’ll probably be better with my vision and quirk, but you don’t have to worry about me. I can handle myself.

Oh that's right, you're one of those people with a quirk. [He remembers her mentioning that too during her uh...informative introduction at the meeting. And it's even a term he's familiar with!] Did you go to UA?

[It's a reassuring answer though. If she can hold her own, Jun is happy with that. ]

In that case, we should do fine.

[Up ahead, looks like they got their first obstacle: their path ending in a ledge and the next platform several meters away. Incredibly, there's no visible bottom were they to fall off the ledge. It's almost like this entire place is hovering in a colorful mist. ]

[ what

she stops to turn back toward jun, eyes wide. obstacle who? ochako doesn't know it. ]

Yeah, I did. How'd you know? You... weren't in the Realm, too, were you?

[ did... did she forget someone else? ]

Oh, no. I wasn't there.

[And Thank God for that, considering all the things she said about it. But we don't have time to unpack all that]

Before here, I was in another place called South Sister. I met some UA students there.

Oh, good.

[ SHE WAS SO WORRIED FOR A SECOND. but now that that's settled, she'll wander over to the edge and (carefully) peer over. hmmm. ]

Really, though? Who was it? Maybe we were classmates!

[He'll walk over too, examining the ledge. Maybe glide across? Hmmm...]

It was Bakugo-san, Todoroki-san, and Izuku-san. [He'll remember to use the honorfics since she's also japanese] Izuku-san helped me out a few times.

...You really did know my classmates!

[ THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A JOKE?! ]

That does sound like Deku-kun, though. Ahhh, I just hope they didn't get into too much trouble...

[Well how about that? He thought it was a big school, so that was coincidence enough. But immediate classmates? ]

Haha, really? Small world..s, I suppose.

I don't remember them getting into too much, don't worry. I probably caused trouble for Izuku-san if anything.

[Ok maybe also Bakugou greeted him by throwing an explosion at him once, but hey Ochako's got enough on her plate without hearing about Bakugou's quetionable social skills]

Eh? Not even Bakugou?

[ that doesn't sound right. ]

Somehow I don't think Deku-kun would be that bothered by it if you did, though. He likes helping people, you know?

Haha, even Bakugo-san! [He ain't a snitch!!] Though, I was usually busy with mission work, so it's not like I knew what they were up to all the time.

[In other words, they might've gotten into trouble but Jun didn't care because it had nothing to do with his mission. Which. Is probably the more likely scenario.]

Mm, that's along the lines of what he said too. Are you two close friends?

I wouldn't be surprised if they found trouble while you weren't looking, to be honest...

[ her classmates are (mostly) great, but they are. not the best at staying put. it's why they'll be great heroes, eventually, but it's also why they keep making everyone worry about them! ]

Yeah! Deku-kun's one of my best friends in our class. [ sighs. ] It feels like it's been forever since I've seen any of them...

[ this is ochako realizing she misses everyone?? wow?? ]

[He makes an amused noise]

I can't rule that out. They were all quite the characters.

[Because yeah, even he could easily see those three getting into some kind of hijinks while he wasn't around. He wishes he had gotten to spend more time with him, that he could've gotten that chance to actually tell Izuku the truth about things like he'd promised....but well, some things aren't meant to be.

All he can do is work to help get Ochako back to her world, and pray that those three were there waiting.]

You'll see them again. And you'll have a lot of stories to tell Izuku-san too.

[Though uh...maybe not the one about the murder place because YIKES]

Hehe, you should try being in class with them!

[ there's never a dull day in class 1-A. but ah, her enthusiasm fades a littlee, though ochako still keeps smiling. ]

I don't think I'd want to tell Deku-kun everything. [ THE MURDERS... ] But this place is really cool, you know? And the people I've met, even in the Realm, were all pretty amazing. He'd probably like to meet some of them.

[ ...another moment, and she laughs. ]

And to take notes on their powers and how it all works.

I'm good. My school is lively enough for me.

[Dealing with mostly normal high school was already a lot for him. Having a classmate that can make explosions out of sweat? Hmmm...yeah pass.

But he can get Ochako's sentiment. When he gets home, he was definitely going to keep to the happier stories to tell his friends. They already worry about him enough.

That remark though? Gets a real spontaneous laugh from him]

Haha! You know, that's actually exactly the first thing he did when I met him!

We were at a halloween bonfire, I was all dressed up- and there he was, asking me a dozen questions about how my abilities work so he could write it down in his notebook.

I don't think I've ever met someone who gets as excited about quirks and stuff as Deku-kun. You know he's got like ten of those notebooks? It's kind of amazing, when you really think about it.
